RE :
Several (a lot, actually) on FR advocate that talkshow hosts, like Rush, Hannity, Levin should moderate the debates.
......
I have great doubt that they would be that wonderful as debate moderators. I have heard too many of them, too many times, literally melt in fascination and awe when prominent politician figures show up on their programs to be interviewed. Those hosts turn into junior high school giddy little girls, guffawing at the being the presence of greatness” yes, they did such a great job interviewing Rubio on his immigration bill.
My take is that the 2016 primary is ~ 3 years away so RNC Priebus feels safe throwing this nonsense out there to suck up to them(Rush, Hannity, Levin), Rubio style. His main concern is 2014 and getting out the vote.
Rush already responded as expected, that the job doesnt pay enough for him,
Its sort of depressing that too many rally around nonsense still.

” yes, they did such a great job interviewing Rubio on his immigration bill.”
Great example!. You get a big shot pol on any of their shows, and they collapse. Not always, but way too often.

The latest example is the recent decision by the Republican National Committee to ban CNN and NBC from covering any debates during the next GOP presidential primaries. Wrong. The RNC voted to ban anyone at those two networks from being debate moderators. There is no ban on COVERING the debates.

More like “Stupid right-leaning columnist.” The RNC did something right, FINALLY..... and did it in a manner that would generate great media exposure- extra points.
