Conveniently overlooked are the crimes committed in connection with obtaining items to fence for the money to purchase said drugs: armed home invasions, armed robbery, auto burglary and other theft of properties and assaults. These aren’t people who are busted for smoking a joint on the street corner.

..."a large mob of members here cheering him on. They too, wanted George hung"....

It's unfortunate to see that here too, but you are quite right. Once any rational person (libs included) hears the the facts on Zimmerman, they change their tune.

It shows just how important it is to hold "news" organizations accountable.

It also is not State level charges. Not sure why the feds would be doing the charging for street level dealing. If they don’t want the case let the states handle it.

"More social engineering by decree."

If you mean that Mandatory Minimums are social engineering, and tweaking the conditions on those are MORE social engineering, then, I guess...

"This is not out of compassion, it is a campaign stunt for the dims"

As if the "Get Tough on Crime" mandatory minimums weren't campaign stunts to begin with.

Because dealing or using crack usually ties into gang activity.

This is about getting as many black men out of prison as possible, even if they’ve done violence. Period.

Hey with all the illegals they want to come and stay here, along with Cali releasing thousands of prisoners even sex offenders, this is just part of the Marxist plan. They want the thugs and scum running this country into the hole so the left can be the permanent ruling class.

Yes and when using crack and destroying entire cities gets you less time than smoking or wearing a seat belt then you’ll be happy, huh?

Does Holder want to get some of “his people” out?
Of course.

Are low level offenders (any color) being early outed every day because of overcrowding?
Of course.

Does this apply to violent repeat offenders?
Of course not.

I don’t have an issue with the intent, but they need to work thru Congress to change the laws, not ignore them.

If I had my way, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana would be a ticketable misdemeanor, not an arrest.

When the federal government gets back in the constitutional box and leaves police powers to the states, where it belongs, then I'll be happy. Art 1 Sec 8 doesn't give the Feds any power over drugs, etc..

We know Holder could care less about white, Hispanic or oriental prisoners, unless the Hispanics are illegals, so that means he is doing it to lower the prison counts of black people. It’s not a bad plan, providing the non violent part and the non gang part are strictly adhered to. He might throw in non Hip Hop and Rap too.

How will this go over with states that have their own set of rules?

In many cases, these ‘unjust’ sentences for first-time drug offenses are the only legal way to put a lawbreaker away. When the law can’t prove the other offenses, they use this to get a bad apple off the streets for a time.

Dear god! You mean if they got rid of these bullsh*t drug laws then prosecutors would actually have to go back to proving the guilt of people charged with crimes that have actual, real victims with names? Well we can't have that!
