Actually I’m one of the about 1% of FReepers who actually think Detroit presents a great opportunity for conservatism.
In a city where GOP chances rest somewhere on the none side of slim to none, this Duggan guy sounds pretty good. He’s got some of the right people behind him. It took 50 years to destroy Detroit so it certainly won’t be rebuilt overnight.

OMG! I remember Bill Bonds. The Captain Kirk of channel seven news. His ego was legendary.

I do not even know if he is still alive but he was a real HAM at Channel 7, ABC.
There were others but he was the worst, I think.

He also had the McNamara machine behind him, much like a previous mayor named Kwame.
There are some lessons to be learned, but frankly I'd vote Napoleon before Duggan.
