Imagine my surprise when I received my absentee ballot in the mail and this robbery attempt was the only item on it.
This at the same time the other degenerate prick Loria is putting a minor league team on the field and pocketing a hundred million bucks this season after conning the chumps into a new stadium
Dolphins suck and are a bunch of greedy crooks.
Loudmouth New York douchebag Ross wants to target conservatives, they are going to target him and his team right back.
Still don't like commies too much down in Miami.
Miami is a true third world sh_t hole.I thought it was bad in 1970 when I left. I can only imagine what it is now.Dolphins get a lot of support from Broward,Palm Bch. and Martin counties.Dade County surely gives them some support but not all.
I REALLY, REALLY dislike DAMYANKEES!
We have the same problem here in Jacksonville — Jags want a $63M scoreboard. Owner of Jags is a billionaire. $63M is chump change for him (he just paid $250M for an ENGLISH! soccer team!), and he wants Jax taxpayers to fund part of the scoreboard.
Excuse me!
Buy the damn thing yourself, Mr. Kahn! We cannot afford it! You can!
and the guy who sold him the Dolphins was a real Republican?
Learned from their fellow travelers in NYC.
That question is relevant why?
It’s not. I was just wondering.
It took a while for me to find it, wow, but H. Wayne Huizenga — Dutch descent, but from Chicago, merely went to college here in Grand Rapids — has founded three different companies which wound up Fortune 500. He bought a stake in the team after Joe Robbie had died and the family was “struggling” (it sez here), then bought the rest, pulled Joe Robbie’s name off the stadium, renamed it four or five times, sold half of the team and the stadium to this new joker, then sold all but 5% to the same guy.
That sounds familiar, owned that Waste Management company
Wow, only 30% huh?
Let him pay his own bills, if he wants to move the team, well, bye.
I’ve met Mr. Bileca, if only very briefly, when he was mailing campaign literature. He was a complete gentleman during what is usually a tedious process and treated everyone around him with courtesy, a telling measure of character, unlike other candidates I’ve encountered under the same circumstances, including one caught trying to steal a pallet jack, lol.
Actually, its a zero sum game. Oh, and did you know the NFL does not pay room tax for their hotel rooms?
Forcefully taking from taxpayers to give to the private interests of billionaires doesn’t sound like a free market to me.
We've just been through this in Minnesota with Zygmunt Wilf hijacking the taxpayers to the tune of $975 million for a new playground. One of our columnists finally got around to breaking down the numbers (the Minneapolis RedStar Tribune made some cash on this due to owning some land used in development). When you say an owner will put up 'his own money', this is what he means ...
"The city of Minneapolis is on the hook for $309 million in construction and operation costs for the new stadium. Throw in interest payments for 30 years and that becomes $678 million.
As a reminder, heres the breakdown on the alleged $477 million the Vikings are putting into the $975 million project:
The $200 million loan from the NFL? The Vikings will pay that back with club seat money they would normally share with the league. Ninety-seven percent (31/32nds) of the money the Wilfs will use to pay back the NFL is money that would have gone to their NFL partners anyway.
Naming rights? With the economy rebounded (my note...'uh huh'...) and the NFL red hot, Im estimating $10 million a year. Zygi wont get it all up front, but he can take the deal to the bank, pick up a quick $150 million to $200 million and pay it off as the sponsors checks come in.
Lets go with $100 million as Zygis remaining expense and personal seat fees can cover as much of that as the Vikings have the audacity to extract."
Always for a bowl of pottage!!! We continually sell our birthright for a bowl of pottage... and, of course, like almost all libs, he has his... to H*ll with everyone else. Of course the time will come when his new-found friends will come after him... It's called MARXISM!
What did Julius Caesar say on the steps of the Senate? Then die, Caesar... Let's hope it doesn't come to that for the honest tax-paying working person in this country.
Marlins get two criminal owners in a row. Bad for MLB, bad for Florida.
