The CIA is spending $630,000 on the concept. It closed its research centre on climate change and national security last year, after GOP members of Congress argued it was a subject the CIA shouldn’t be looking at.
The researchers are looking for a “technical evaluation of a limited number of proposed geoengineering techniques”.
This will include trying to work out which geoengineering techniques are feasible and try to evaluate the impacts and risks of each.
One method is a study which will look at pumping particles into the stratosphere to reflect incoming sunlight away from the planet.
There is a theory that solar radiation management could lead to a global cooling trend that might reverse, or at least slow down, global warming. There are other plans to look at removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.
This is either satire or insanity !

That $635,000 is for a STUDY. How much it will eventually cost ( if it is even remotely feasible ) is anybody’s guess.

Stop spending money on the global warming claptrap and get down to the business at hand.

Well, the CIA is testing that to see if the statement can be falsified...
Global warming is non-existent. It is a ruse a false crisis to justify more regulation and control, the loss of liberties and the transfer of wealth to the wealthy. There has been no global warming in 16-17 years. How can they blatantly go ahead with this as if everyone still believed in the crisis? It pulls back the mask and shows our government for what it is - a totalitarian state.

Apparently it worked, global temperatures have stayed about the same for 15 years now.

I think the enviro wacko’s have silently conceded that... that’s why you seldom see that term being used anymore.
Now it’s the catch-all phrase — CLIMATE CHANGE (one they can use both when the temperature goes up, down or sideways ).

Given that this is a GUBMENT project....ANYTHING is possible.
I hesitate to Speculate what sort of unforeseen “problems” could be be generated by the sort thoughtless actions such a governement project.
