Once again, trial lawyers are to blame.

Again, your aim is outstanding.

"Stand Your Ground" isn't the target so much as its unsung provision exempting defenders from civil liability.

These kids are being paid by a group funded by George Soros. This is not a spontaneous demonstration, this is a professionally organized protest.

On the left, there is no such thing as a spontaneous protest.

For example, for the pro-abortion rallies at the Texas legislature this summer, they advertised on Craig's List for attendees and they were paid a day rate of $45 -- plus they were bussed from Dallas and Houston to Austin and back for free.

That's socialist "spontaneity" for you...

Zero Tolerance rules are simply to take any responsibility for making a judgment call away from schools, administrators and teachers.

As you note, trial lawyers have a gift. Everything they touch turns to dross.

This astroturf is DOA.

This is lawyer sponsored. They want the civil tort reform out of self defense law.

Follow the money, this about ambulance chasers.

Insurance companies vs plaintif lawyers.

We demand a 'Trayvon Martin Act'. We demand that you call a special session of the Florida legislature to address the issues at the center of the Trayvon Martin tragedy: stand your ground vigilantism, racial profiling and a war on youth that paints us as criminals and funnels us out of schools and into jails.

Trayvon was a criminal, and after a thorough FBI investigation, no evidence was found that GZ's actions were based on race.

they all have uniform tshirts. They have excellent preprinted signs.

SOMEBODY is paying for that.

This is pure astroturf.

CBS miami is desperate for advertisers. They are a broadcase station. Just like any other major market ambulance chasing lawyers dominate the advertising. So their lawyers call them up and want a story and the 5th class news department regurgitates the press release etc.

this is a paid for propaganda story. Goebles would be proud.

remember out of the ENTIRE legislature, only TWO house dems voted against the law.

2 and 3 have been in place for years and every year there’s a report that says cops stop and arrest blacks more than anyone else, as well as search their persons and vehicles.

What they don’t say is black are more likely to have warrants, and get arrested for the same. Thus, their person and vehicles get searched incident to arrest.

This has been going for almost 15 years and I have never heard of one officer being prosecuted for racial profiling...

"2 and 3 have been in place for years and every year there’s a report that says cops stop and arrest blacks more than anyone else, as well as search their persons and vehicles."

I doubt it would hurt much to formalize 2 and 3. But it might result in more lawsuits. Once it's law, the burden of proof might shift to the police department to prove a perp wasn't racially profiled.

For that matter 4 could probably be relaxed. It sounds like the schools were already falsifying reports in Trayvon's case to avoid zero tolerance anyway.

I think I may actually like #5, though I'll admit I'm not exactly sure what they mean by Restorative Justice. Perhaps if they had gotten Trayvon help instead of just suspending/expelling him. If they had run him through a program to deal with aggressive tendencies. If they had counseled him on his drug use. If they had chopped off his fingers so he couldn't steal no more. (just kidding on that last one).

But #1 is just WRONG. No good can come of making self defense illegal.

Especially caring Mom who really hasn’t been involved with him the last 14 years.......

Well stated, and more relevant than an “ inconvenient truth”

What the black community needs are white people to be around as assigned pairs to young black men. That way when they hold up a liquor store, commit armed robbery, assault, or rape someone, the white person gets shot as their assigned stand-in.
That’s justice. If George Zimmerman had shot a white guy and Trayvon as a pair, that would prove no profiling took place.

And the race baiters, Barry O, would be happy

..... For instance, unlike the vapid empty headed braindeads out there ... we all know that Zimmerman mentored under privileged black youth and was involved in the community ..... But, Did you all know .... that the evil George Zimmerman forced the investigation, arrest and discipline of a police Lieutenant’s son who beat up a black youth ....... How much does America really know about George Zimmerman?

Thanks for the video. How can we find something that definitively links George Z’s efforts with forcing this issue.

That would be worthy of sending on to Drudge, etc.

What you see here is the assumption of victimhood - everything happens TO them, not BECAUSE OF them.

Like your to the point version of the real issue.
