Ben, thanks for your "clarification." But the push is still on for electric cars no matter what. In the popular mind the story has not faded.
Obama told us electricity prices would "necessarily" have to rise in his Brave New World. He's gone to war with coal-produced electricity. He's done everything possible to make energy more expensive. Yet his Liberal Lunatic followers demand electric cars no matter how impractical, useless and silly they are.
Anyone who ever thought electric cars were a solution to our energy problem needs a few years in psychiatric rehabilitation.
Yep. I have a BIL who is convinced you can run a whole house off of solar panels year round 24/7 because he visited a house that claimed such.
He said they had no electric service other than a few solar panels on the roof. He claimed it ran an entire house (approximately 3200 sq feet) including the all electric HVAC system, the hot tub, normal house lights and yard lights, all the appliances, a heated pool AND a heated driveway.
He proudly showed me a picture of the place that had no more the 40 square feet of solar panels. When I pointed out the electric lines running to the house he said the owners had never got around to disconnecting from the electric company...

That is an incredibly idiotic statement.
The ICE has barely scratched the surface of its future. Horsepower to displacement ratios hav more than tripled in the last decade, and fuel economy is rising rapidly, and would rise even more rapidly if the feckless environmental ‘fixes’ were sent to the hole they belong in.
A plug-in electric car is a death trap waiting to be triggered in the next emergency.
Electric cars would have zero future without destructive government subsidies.
