Catholic priests flip-flopped for centuries until recently deciding that they think life begins at conception.
A lot of Protestants jumped onto the bandwagon in the 1980’s (I blame Jerry Farwell for making it a political wedge) and now a lot of Protestants mimic it without knowing the reason why they do.
