March for Justice video bump: http://www.c-spanvideo.org/program/114519-1
I did attend Freeper Ball at the 2000 Inauguration!
What fun.
Super Patriots, Freepers one and all!!
Happy Anniversary Patriots!
Thanks. I remembered after I had posted that he went to management. Too bad, I really enjoyed his reporting.
Some of you still do.
I remember thinking very hard when FR finally asked for an email address in exchange for posting privileges. Up until then, pre-NSA, it was possible to be fairly anonymous and the trolls were few and far between (Ash, A+Bert, Murrymom, a few others).
I was working within the walls of one of the alphabet networks at the time, deep in enemy territory. But I figured, what the hell, what can they do to me? These days, no doubt, I'd be shown the door (actually, I'd be using TOR, but I digress).
Many times in those days I posted rolling headlines from the AP subscription-feed that I had access to, in order to illustrate the bias in the editing as stories were updated throughout the day. And Jim Robinson was the only other poster... Vanities were encouraged.
Fun times, long ago.
Jim, one day, true historians will mark this rally of yours as the beginning of the end to the progressive stronghold on power in this nation. It was an incredible honor for both my wife and me to have participated in person as well as meet one of history’s great men, Jim Robinson. God bless you.
I was part of the class of 98 (technically would have been November), but there was that registration screw up that required a number of folks to re-register. Was at the March for Justice—got up early and drove, then left after the event on the Mall and headed home. Long day that was. I remember the dog running around with the “Impeach Buddy” shirt.
Too bad when people are as good as he is, either they are shoved into management or wind up moving to other areas.
If he were to move again, I'd love to have him as on air "personality."
He could replace lots of folk but at his age, he's lots of other opportunities rather than dealing with cameras and make-up.
Actually, awareness about the March was brought to my attention by Congressman Billybob on the old MSNBC boards. Got to shake his hand at the March. Where has he gone, BTW?
John Armour, aka Congressman Billybob, died some time ago.
Yes. I lurked for a long time before I joined. Finally I wrote to JR privately, thinking that I might have known him in high school since he lived in my home town. We didn’t know each other, but one day somebody made me so mad that I had to join up to post a response! So my joining date is Nov. 1998, although I’d been lurking for months.
Thank you very much. God bless.
Oh damn. I missed that. He was one of the good ones here.
I lurked for a few months and was there at the MfJ. I joined the day after.
I envied you guys.
Great thread...
I joined during the recount. FReeped at one of the busiest intersections in Albuquerque with a sign that had a pic of Gore and “STOP THIEF” on it. I guess the “thumbs up” and “flipped off” ran about 50-50.
I was out of state at a friend’s house hunting deer. He had a satellite dish so I took some videotapes and we had his wife record the whole thing while we were out hunting. She wasn’t amused, she missed her favorite shows, but I got to see faces of the people I had been reading about. I still have the tape.
