From what I understand it didn’t pass because of the many military members who depend on food stamps to survive. Many of our military men and women do not earn enough to feed their families but yet are willing to sign a pledge to give their life for our country. Makes my blood boil!

Yeah, you eat it in the form of tortillas and high fructose corn syrup; real nutritional staples.
To: ConservativeMan55

replace that food stamp/ EBT crap with $20 a week care boxes of beans, rice, powdered milk and eggs.
Surprisingly this is a far more expensive idea than what we currently have. Boxes and distribution would all be Gov run. We already have stores that have maximized the cost effectiveness of distributing goods. A cheaper and better option is to limit the items that can be bought via EBT cards. Of course you are going to have a fight between farmers on your hands on what produce is worthy of being included on the list. I think if we could scientifically come up with a cost/nutrition ratio and everything above a certain ratio becomes available for sale. This would require a layer of certification for stores/products but this could be spread out and integrated over time to for best cost to benefit ratio.

I don't agree.
1). There would be a lot less fraud. A lot.
2). Use the post office to deliver the boxes and/or have pickup points.
3). Most people would hate the boring food so much they would finally work to get off the aid.

"Could this be a sign of peoples mood.. when they try and pass immigration?" I hope so. I just wrote my Congressman, John Culberson Houston district 7) and told him the only solution to the current immigration problem is 1) Secure the border, 2) E-Verify must become mandatory.
Anything other than that and you will not be getting my vote ever again. I will vote for my Senator Ted Cruz only.

The corn flour is a very basic staple, but corn syrup is not made from yellow dent.

...corn syrup is not made from yellow dent corn. Yes, I'm afraid that it is.
