This song says something about each month of the year, including the summer months:

Only because it was my kids’ favorite while we sat at the local spring pool.
Sweet Escape by Gwen Stefani and Hey there Delilah by I don’t know his name.
Good memories from a couple years back.

Those days of soda, pretzels, and beer?

Yes sir, that there is a true summer song. When music was music, and had words that you could understand (and sing in front of Grandma....with a frown on the “beer” part ;-)

Groovin’ - The Young Rascals 1967
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rkgozdtsh_g
Groovin’ on a Sunday afternoon
Really couldn’t get away too soon
I can’t imagine anything that’s better
The world is ours whenever we’re together
There ain’t a place I’d like to be instead of
Movin’ down a crowded avenue
Doing anything we like to do
There’s always lots of things that we can see
You can be anyone we like to be
All those happy people we could meet
Just groovin’ on a Sunday afternoon
Really, couldn’t get away too soon
No, No, No...
We’ll keep on spending sunny days this way
We’re gonna talk and laugh our time away
I feel it coming closer day by day
Life would be ecstasy, you and me endlessly
Groovin’ on a Sunday afternoon
Really couldn’t get away to soon
No, No, No, No
Groovin’
Groovin’
No, No, No, No
Groovin’...
I was working my first job pumping gas at a Texaco station.
One Saturday two girls in a convertible pulled in for gas, followed by another car with two guys. Probably high school seniors. The guys came over and they all talked while I filled their car and washed the windshield. They were on their way to the lake for the day. The girls were in swimsuits and shorts over them, with scarves over their hair and sunglasses. “Groovin’” was playing on the radio. Off they drove.
Made quite an impression.
