why Galt?

Because doing so decreases the amount of resources available for those in power to purchase hollow point ammunition, feed and house their supporters, conduct surveillance on patriot Americans and etc. (i.e., starve the beast).

"why not get there and march in Patrick Henry’s shoes, and make the message “alright you bastards, you want to turn this country into a socialist republic, you’re going to have to kill us all first”.

Talking about dangerous, do you really think 0bama, Valerie Jarrett, Clapper, and et al. would have a problem with making that happen?

"Yes. Founders were willing to risk their lives and their families’ lives to be free. These guys are not even willing to risk a chairman spot. Quite a contrast. Cowards"

The solution to our present problems will not come from the present GOP leadership. Boehner is collaborating with the enemy and every day the US Congress shows how ineffective or worse it is in checking a totalitarian like Obama.

They’d need the military to do it, and I don’t believe they would follow those orders.

And I think that’s a danger of a different kind. The danger that the peaceful track gets is that the whole time you are peacefully protesting they are tipping the balance of power in the military, to where we CANT fight.

What’s the point of a 2nd amendment to defend our freedoms when we’re going to declare right up front that we won’t use violence. Don’t we need to make the Socialists afraid we might do just that in order to keep them in check?

The leadership of GOP in House has caved,

Of course, what did you expect "our guys" would do, stand up for conservatives and the majority of American citizens? Dream on.

A large majority of Hispanics now vote Democrat, IIRC the percentage was almost 70% in the last national election. Within a few more years the WH and almost every seat in both houses will be held by far-left Democrats and the US as we have known it will be a thing of the past.

I think TPTB are plenty afraid of the force of arms the 2nd provides. Why else would they be going to such extremes to limit it?

Let's pray, if we raise enough hell now, it never gets to that stage. That said, I'm not very optimistic.

lol, I’ve actually said the exact same thing!

There are neighborhoods here in Chicago that are run by the mob, they function far better than those run by our government.

What sorry state this nation has devolved to ~

OWS here below is responsding to my post at http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3030777/posts?page=155#155

I like this idea but have no idea how to proceed.
Who could we get this idea/tactic to that would have the position to do this? Would it be a state governor such as Perry? Or a Senator such as Cruz? A state attorney general such as Gregg Abbot in Texas? The treason charge would be against Congressmen at the Federal level, but it is committed against the states, so not sure who would be the players in this.

Is there anyone on FR with inside contacts with people like that who could get this idea to them?

I feel that Texas, NM and Arizona should secede, or at the least practice nullification on this and set up their own border security if this passes.
Respond by [hopefully preemptively] declaring a state of invasion — if two or more do, then the passage of this bill is giving aid and comfort to enemies of several States and therefore unambiguously fits the definition of treason. Then, any ‘Aye’ vote is grounds for charging that Congressman with Treason, and any enforcement action by the executive branch would be Treason, and the Supreme Court declaring that the actions are invalid would be... you guessed it, Treason.

Why the hell can’t the Governors see this?

I hope Beck is full of it this time. If true, Roberts would have to resign leaving Obama to pick the new Chief Justice.

Again, I agree with you that they are afraid of it now. You and I aren’t that far apart...But I’m just afraid we neuter that if we state right off the bat that we’re about peace and love and we wont use violence. I’m not calling for riots or violence, but I’m just saying lets not take it off the table.

I just wish Glenn would go more to the “come and take it” stuff that he used to do as opposed to his latest course. Let them know that the damn well better be afraid of it.

I think SoCalTransplant's statements & sentiments can be summed up by the underlined portion of the following:

“Stand your ground. Don’t fire unless fired upon, but if they mean to have a war, let it begin here.
— Captain John Parker*

* Captain John Parker was a veteran of the French and Indian War when he ordered his troops of the Lexington Militia—not Minutemen, mind you, but the normal regular militia—to muster on Lexington Green. Parker was dying of advanced tuberculosis; he’d be dead within six months. His orders to his men as he faced 700 approaching regulars with less than 70 men are recorded for posterity.

Agree

Is that what Beck is saying? How long would they allow Beck to speak about anything but? Remember back when they tried to tie shootings to his message?

He does own a gun, right? That should tell you something. Talk softly and carry a big stick.

Maybe I’m reading him wrong, but I don’t get the vibe from him that his peace thing is “for now”...and I’m afraid that we may piddle around until its too late to resist any other way. I guarantee you that the minute that the left so saturates the now faaaaabulous military with its supporters to where they think they have a majority, they are going to go full court press on gun control by force. Once that happens, and they have military might behind the enforcement, its over.

To his credit, he is an outspoken advocate of gun ownership, and I praise him for that. Please don’t think I’m anti-Glenn Beck. I just think the course he’s taking is too soon, we don’t have to go the Gandhi route just yet.

I also just get sick of the Martin Luther King worship on both sides. The guy was a philanderer giving morality lectures, and more importantly was a socialist. Beck is friends with his niece and she tries to paint him as a conservative, but he wasn’t. I don’t think that its a coincidence that his inner circle are all now race pimps and socialists.

I actually agree with you a lot. lol But Beck is a national figure and has to maintain a certain standard we have the liberty to ignore. I bet if he anonymously joined in commenting here, we'd see a slightly more radical side.

For now, the actions we've discussed above are about all working stiffs can do, unless you or anyone else has other ideas that doesn't involve violence or threat thereof against others. The organizing, education, and slowing economy is working to an extent. We haven't just rolled over, and we've been able to hold the moral high ground.

I don't want to go saying something that would cause a loss of hope, but this is much bigger than the problems we're having here in the US. Our fight is against an evil that is growing here and worldwide. What we're facing may not be avoidable, unless we all change our ways, if you believe Bible prophecy.

That shouldn't deter us from doing our utmost to fight it though.

Just sayin'... :)

Understand fully, but I don’t wish to see anyone taken in by their BS.

Beck is not in any way misleading us, as to importance of these events, nor the factual nature of what he is saying.
