open defiance was their vote on it a couple years ago, their gay pastors. a gay bishop isn’t hardly their first act of open defiance on this.

The phrase “...and his partner” says that he and the other guy aren’t married. Would it be reasonable to assume they’re enjoying the sexual aspects of their conjugal relationship? Outside of marriage?
Many of us observers aren’t necessarily Victorian prudes, but isn’t extra-marital sex considered sinful behaviors in some sects? And isn’t this guy capable of getting a marriage performed to cover his ecclesiastical ass?
Just wondering.

That should be it. Now, every homosexual in this country should be employed. This was the last one.

That's what Dan Skogen (whose website has long chronicled the ELCA slide into heresy) states: The approval of homosexuality has always been open defiance of God by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. . .

Martin Luther is rolling in his grave and screaming obscenities at the church he created. This isn't the "church" he created.

God’s going to do a whole lot more than that....time is no longer on our side. ...He’s going to make it impossible to hear the truth because mankind no longer wants it.

This is a game changer friends. The approval of homosexuality has always been open defiance of God by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America but now this action announces it to the world and defines what the denomination is about and what they believe. Time to choose, ELCA members. Flee from Babylon or support an enemy of the Gospel.

If that is the case, the world and society are going to get a whole lot more interesting, and not in a good way.

Let that organization suffer the consequences.
Even more normal Lutheran churches should be bailing in the near future.
Congratulations to the ELCA for being so “progressive”.

And isnt this guy capable of getting a marriage performed to cover his ecclesiastical ass?No, two men are incapable of marriage.

I attended and ELCA church in Oceanside, CA, for five years. I’m surprised that a southern California synod has the first gay bishop. I thought the first one would be from the San Fransisco area, Chicago area (where I live), or Ohio. I heard that Trinity Seminary, in Columbus, is the best ELCA seminary for gay students to meet other gays, to date.

Open defiance of God .... I suspect He is not amused. This will not end well, either in this world or the hereafter.
