It might be just goofy and funnyif we lived back in the days of Sid Caesar. But we don't. This is not just an innocent joke. It's meant to promote to children the idea the gender is fluid and meaningless. And if it makes conservative parents squeak, all the better. That just means it's doing it's job. This cartoon will win awards, be championed by GiLBerTs, and shoved in everyone's face as often as possible.
You will see little boys pretending to be gender-bending superheros. Any boys who pick on them for doing it will be labeled bullies and sent home from school. That is the goal.
They could have just shown Ranma 1/2. That’s a story about a boythat turns into a red-headed girl when he is splashed with cold water, and back into himself when he is splashed with hot water.
It all started when he and his father started sparring at an ancient Chinese martial arts training ground with 101 springs, each with it’s own tragic story. The one he fell into had a little red-headed girl drown in it 1500 years previous, so anyone that fell into it got the body of the little red-headed girl. (His father turned into a Panda. I’ll let you guess why.)
My bud here in Hollywood was one of the guys who developed GI Joe Renegades for the HUB. The head honchos there were OK. The programming department however, were all a bunch of flaming fags.
