Presumably the word “negro” is not prohibited in most Spanish language countries as it is in ours.

It also was a time when Mexico had been legitimizing the use of Negro to describe blacks/African-Americans in Mexico.

If she is teaching Spanish, it would be appropriate to use the word so they learned the culture.

It is now appropriate and legal in Mexico to use the term Negro in describing race.
