I suspect that many in Mormon grass roots political leadership positions have been intimidated by the leftists with the aid of government organizations such as the IRS. I would say that it is not just a coincidence that these 'position reversals' seem to happen AFTER private information such as donor lists are leaked.
Same here... I was born in 1956 and lived through its peak years. I feel especially blessed to have lived through the Reagan era. It was a great, great run for the USA.
Best luck with that... do you have a good lawyer?
In other news, the BSA will be voting to change their name from Boy Scouts to Rump Rangers.
People who think “my troop” won’t be that way are deluding themselves like those who think “my public schools” aren’t run by leftist indoctrinators.
Homo Scout has a futuristic ring to it for the organization.
You look familiar... havent we met some place before ? :)
Not in my Troop will be my new standard. The entire world may crash around me, but there will be young men coming out of my troop that we will all be proud of.
Best luck with that... do you have a good lawyer?
No, but I have God as my judge.
Exactly. The ACLU and SPLC will all over them like Moochelle Obama on a cheeseburger when nobody's looking.
lol... how’s it going? Think we got a topic over hear that everyone agrees on? :)
This is going to make some interesting waves at the World Jamboree. Some countries aren’t quite so homo-friendly as America is.
I say shrink their funding (donations), and watch them start squeeling from the top.

“People who think my troop wont be that way are deluding themselves like those who think my public schools arent run by leftist indoctrinators.”
My troop, like most, is owned by my church. The priest can pull the plug at any moment. With that said, it is our/my/your troop. We can come and go as we please. We can associate with whom ever we please. The BSA can change the policy, but they can’t tell the volunteers or the chartering organizations, with whom they must associate.
All the BSA would need to change this policy are a few well timed and placed stories of a young homosexual boys who “saw the light” and found his way to God.
God will judge you for eternity, but the Gay Scouts will judge you here & now. Your organization has decided, as an organization, that it is moral and appropriate for a male to stick his penis in the butt of another male.
You can leave, or give tacit endorsement. You cannot tell them YOUR troop rejects the BSA principles without getting tossed out, and maybe losing a ton of money in court along with it.
I have never yet seen an organization that embraces Satan return to God. I’ve never seen a leftist organization become conservative. Have you?
They didn’t really “back” the ruling, so much as they said they weren’t going to care about it one way or another. They have the right approach:
“The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints posted a statement on its website saying sexual orientation has never been, and is not now, something that precludes young boys from being in Mormon Scout troops. As long as youth refrain from premarital sex - a strict church rule - they can participate in Boy Scouts, church officials said.
“Willingness to abide by standards of behavior continues to be our compelling interest,” the statement said.”
I don’t really care if a kid who thinks they might be gay is part of a scout troop. When it wasn’t clearly encouraged, they would tend to be quiet, and the key was that scouts is not a sexual organization.
I urged the scouting organization to at least include in their new rule a strict ban on any sexual contact or relationships within the organization, but they did not do so.

Mr. Rogers, I do understand exactly what you are saying. And I have struggled with this issue myself. I have weighed the amount of whatever money they can ring out of me, vs. the character of the young men in my charge.
I have 20 boys in my troop between 6th and 10th grade. It is my charge to guide them to be strong men of good character. I have decided to teach by example.
Each of those 20 boys will either learn that when the homosexuals stomp their feet and have a hissy fit that they can bend over and take it or stand strong and fight back.
If the BSA doesn’t like that, then they will have to force me out. Either way I win. I have 20 young men who will pass along what they have learned to others.
And you asked if I have ever seen an organization embrace satan and return to God? Well I ask you to remember that an organization is people. And yes I have seen people leave the embrace of satan and return to God. Perhaps all they needed was a strong guiding hand.
Remember, you cant beat satan if you aren’t willing to go to hell to fight.
Personal story: I quit the Boy Scouts in 1954 when I was invited by several members of my troop to participate in a homosexual “party,” organized by one of the Scoutmasters, while on a camping trip.
I was 13, and had no idea what homosexuality was, but when the practice was described to me in glowing terms by one of the participants, I knew I did not want to have anything to do with it or them.
I really don’t care what people do in the privacy of their bedrooms, but recruiting young boys to “join” the homosexual lifestyle is way beyond the pale.
BSA has committed suicide, IMHO!
IMO sometimes just being the guy who teaches them cool stuff is all the appropriate attention they need. I didn’t get hugs and pats on the back from every adult male in my life - those came primarily from my dad. There were other guys I looked up to who, just by their example, helped form in me the right ideas about being a man. One was my dad’s hunting buddy, who is a Marine. The guy did everything cool that a 12-yr-old boy could imagine - martial arts, played the drums, rode a motorcycle, collected guns. Looking back he was, without even knowing, a really positive influence on me.
