Unlike this country, Japan actually does control who gets into their country.
Some people would have preferred living in the former East Germany, where the only cars available were the home-grown Trabants.
Most of us don’t want protectionism, but we don’t want to live in a third world country where the only choices are foreign, either.
Bump.
Buy American.
I’m all for buying American, but I won’t fault anyone for refusing to buy a UAW built car.
Unions = Crappy products
"Union Made" means the vehicle is being produced by featherbedding workers whose lackadaisical ways, sloppy workmanship, and locked-in-stone production methods must be made up for by the company by using cheaper parts, poorer quality control, and more advertising hype.
I've been bitten too many times to buy into that again.
