Habor freight stuff is almost and I say almost as good as craftsman, now ? do I put a sarcasm tag on that ?
So sad, craftsman tools was once a tool to be happy about.

Harbor Freight does sell cheap stuff and you get what you pay for.

I suddenly realized that for years there has been a Harbor Freight not far from here, and I have never been in that store!

On the other hand, there is a store not far from here that sells Chinese merchandise wholesale. They are really low cost and their tools will, do if you need one in a pinch, otherwise I agree, they are junk.

They were comparable to the “Made in Japan” junk from the 1950s and mid 60s. Japan has since lowered the boom on junk products and most of their items are now high quality.

Cheap tools are made to fix a toilet and the good tools are to fix your car.

Has anyone looked at Craftsmantools lately ? .. not all of them are made in the USA anymore.

My daughter gave me a Craftsman tool chest on wheels as a present. Pure crap. Thin sheet metal, bad welds, no drawer liners, cheap wheels, no drawer sliders. Didn't want to hurt my daughter's feelings so "happily" accepted it. But I kept my off-brand much better old tool chest, that cost much less than what she paid, and relegated the new one to a tool shed to store other stuff. Both Sears and Penney's are selling crap.

Going the way of WARDS, and WOOLWORTHS. and being followed by Penny’s and Sears.

And Mervyn's. they went out of business. Our local Mervyn's became a Penney's store, no improvement there. I shop at Kohl's, lots of great stuff.

Gay Dallas dads Cooper Smith and Todd Koch will leave their kids in Big D this weekend as they travel to march in New York’s Pride parade on J.C. Penney’s float.

Smith told Instant Tea that he and Koch will join about 100 other friends and supporters from the DFW area.

J.C. Penney spokeswoman Kate Coultas said the Plano-based LGBT employee group PRIDE organized the trip and will have about 250 employees march on Sunday.

“As we focus on becoming America’s favorite store, we’re committed to being a store for all Americans,” Coultas wrote in an email.

She added that those attending will wear J.C. Penney’s Pride shirts, which are only available online.

Cooper said he was honored to be asked to join in the Big Apple’s Pride festivities to celebrate the company’s diversity.

“Todd and I are so proud of J.C. Penney for how they’ve made an effort to represent all families and how they’ve stood squarely by their message of inclusiveness,” Smith said. “The whole experience has been heart-warming. Being asked to walk alongside hundreds of their employees, families and friends is the ultimate cherry on top!”

They celebrated and celebrated some more because JC Penney was going to “change” the way people thought about them....didn’t work out so well and the people who stopped shopping there are just “haters”!

Opening the ceremony, dressed in Western wear and topped with his tan cowboy hat, was Wade Hyde, board member for Equality Texas. Hyde thanked the crowed for coming out and announced the first winner of the night, for Business of the Year J.C.Penney. Accepting the award was Wendi Hollenbeck, who was featured in the controversial Mother’s Day ad with her partner Maggie and their daughters. Hollenbeck said she is thankful for the award and hopes more businesses will come out and accept their employees and protect their rights the way J.C. Penney has for her and her family. As Hollenbeck walked off stage she was met with a loving embrace by her partner.

I only buy stuff from JCP when it is on such a good sale I know they are losing money on the purchase.

Picked up 15 very nice sweaters and sweatshirts for a total of under $75, including tax on a final clearance sale. Most of them are going to down and out men this next Christmas though a church outreach group.

JCP has good quality men’s clothing a very reasonable prices if you wait for sales or clearances, especially if you need tall sizes.

Battery jumper cables had the clamps made of plastic and the one on display at the store had a shattered clamp on it.

Probably not much good for electrical conductivity either.

They had small metal tabs on the ends of the clamps where it clamps on the battery connecting with the main wires. The clamp itself was plastic and it was shattered.
