I didn't read the Pickering/Mullen report but Pickering said 10 minutes ago that the State Department's “contingency plan”—for the Annex personnel to defend the Consulate in an emergency—worked. People in the Annex, according to reports, were ordered not to help defend the Consulate. This is like the rest of Obama’s Middle East non-policy—let events unfold then, after the fact, pretend like you were in control the whole time. Like Janet Napolitano’s “the system worked” in the underwear bomber event.

I saw Pickering on MTP this morning. He seemed clueless; either incompetent, senile or part of the conspiracy. Maybe that was his bad showing?

If you haven’t seen it yet, try to catch the Fox panel in the second half of the program when it re-airs this afternoon. Of all people, Dennis Kucinich just killed it on Benghazi and the IRS scandal. I’m not kidding. Wallace’s jaw practically dropped, and Krystal said what I was thinking: “I’m still trying get over the fact that I agreed with every word Dennis said today.”

Regarding the question of whether we could have mobilized some help, I find it strange that planes were in the sky immediately following the 9-11 attack, but it would have taken too long to do anything to help the Benghazi victims. Are we really to assume if Clinton was in trouble while over there NOTHING would be done? That our forces are not prepared to act immediately if outside the continental US? I am not buying the nothing could be done BS.
