>> I am missing something here. It is certainly not an insult to be called a hispanic.
The insult meant to dissociate Cruz from any Hispanic advantage. It was a presumptuous, racist remark.
Hispanic is not a race. Hispanics are caucasians. I am not being difficult to get along with. I must be thick as a plank. Sorry. And hispanics do not vote for a canddate because they are hispanics. I worked for Henry Bonilla. He never got the hispanic vote.
Race differentiation is not bound to the set containing the familiar classifications: Caucasoid, Negroid, and Mongoloid. The term can be used to distinguish cultural characteristics and biological subspecies.
We could do that certainly. Of course, we would then be inaccurate...but we can do that too.
Not inaccurate, just not the narrow, familiar usage.
Richardson’s remark involved a genetic taxonomy which differentiates Hispanics from non-Hispanics. That’s racism.
I understand what you are saying. And yes, I agree with your opinion of Richardson’s racism. Si.
And I agree that Hispanics are indeed Caucasian. :)
Thank you kindly.
The WH is making this up out of whole cloth, and I can’t believe that anyone at FR would cite them as a source.
Because guess what, Argentinians don’t think they are in any kind of category with Mexicans, Guatamalans or Puerto Ricans. And that goes three ways back at them.
