Hey! The RINOs had to vote “Yea” - the bill had the word “Fairness” in it!
In the House this is something that Boehner will maneuver like the tax hike earlier this year with a lot of GOP members getting to record NO votes looking good while the new tax passes.
don’t forget Cornyn who didn’t vote.
Can’t wait to get rid of him next
The House...that’s what puzzles me. I was under the impression that tax bills had to originate in the House.
If your state has a sales tax, you are supposed to pay it now. Most people don’t know that, or have no idea how to pay. So if you order something from Amazon, and don’t pay the sales tax, you are breaking the law.
But this will not help local stores. I went into Best Buy last week, and it was like a ghost town. The local electronics store went belly up last year. Even with sales tax, they couldn’t compete. To much overhead.
Here's the problem: there are 44,000 local sales tax jurisdictions across the USA. As such, the cost of compliance would be extremely high, and the likes of Amazon.com are going to find out the high cost of opening a new data processing center just to do nothing but sales tax processing.
It is clear that Linda Graham does not want to get reelected. He/She/whatever that thing is, is ALWAYS on the wrong side of conservatives.
Those in favor of this bill say that it isn’t fair that Family Dollar has to collect state sales tax if you shop there, but if you shop online that you don’t have to pay state sales tax.
1. Yes, you do. I am supposed to pay my sales tax to my state.
2. If I’m on vacation, and I buy an item in Florida, Florida does not charge me Ohio sales tax. They charge me Florida sales tax.
3. If I’m in Ohio, and buy something from a Florida internet store, then why should the Florida store collect tax for Ohio? If anything, they should collect tax for Florida, just as if I’m a visitor there.
4. As stated in item #1, I’m supposed to pay my Ohio sales tax. That should not be the responsibility of some store owner in Florida.
5. Already, I’m trusted to pay tax on income I generate through personal effort. I am trusted to report it and pay it. They do not require the person who pays me for my work to report to the IRS that I made money off of them.
6. Small businesses are already at a tax disadvantage since they don’t receive the tax credits, incentives, reductions, etc. that come to big retailers for locating in a town or state.
see number 88
“Marketplace Fairness Act”
Isn’t it funny how things done in the name of “fairness” are becoming more and more unfair?
You got that right.
I knew both of my %#*&! RINO Senators would vote for it. I cannot tell you how mad it makes me to have those two treasonous scumbags representing this state (GA). I wonder whether it was blackmail or payola.
You forgot Isakson (Leftist scumbag-GA)
What? You don’t think Best Buy has an Internet Store?
TT
so they’ve voted to make it nearly impossible for small businesses to conduct online transactions while large businesses, like Walmart and Target will have the run of the place because they already have the state structure in place.
Thanks guys.
I think the bill also includes catalog and phone sales.
My bad. You are correct, Hang him too.
That would be overturning an old Supreme Court decision on mail order sales.
I think its because the USPS doesnt get their piece of the action on the internet. Someone might ship by UPS or FedEx rather than the post office, and we cant have that.
