Can’t blame you.
While in college I really messed up a tripper without intending to.
Guy on my floor was standing in my doorway reading some stuff I had posted on the door. I was at my desk sharpening a fillet knife that had a bright blade and black handle. He turned and said something about the knife and went back to reading. I happened to notice that I had a long black plastic comb and some tinfoil handy so I wrapped half the comb in tinfoil. I then yelled his name and when he turned threw the fake knife at him and got him right in the sternum. I'll never forget the look of terror on his face. I think he shook for fifteen minutes. I had no idea he was tripping. Felt pretty bad bout it.
A wrong career choice can be a source of frustration for sure-I paid homage to my education for more years than I like to remember, before I was able to get back to working with my hands, which I love.
I was actually referring to the album of that title. But if we’re going to mention our favorite Floyd songs, mine is “Time.”
OMG...now I’m gonna be PFing today, too.
LOL
I’ll probably do that myself next time I’m in the car... at least once I finish out the Dream Theater album I’m listening to.
I got one “choice” and when I refused it, I got sent to work crappy jobs, instead.
No college, no art school.
Nothin’.
[even though I was one of two people offered a scholarship for a uppity art school in NYC. folks said no and I couldn’t survive there without ~some~ kind of support]
And now relatives ask me why I ‘wasted my talent’.
Pffft.
People without ‘official training’ don’t do very well in the marketplace.
So fine.
I paint Harleys, do ‘weird photography’ and make stuff for dog rescue organizations.
For a while, I bought beat up furniture and restored them back to bonafide antiques and sold them for a good profit.
Like you, I love working with my hands.
He voted for keeping his penis before he voted against it.
DANG!
Checking in to make sure this didn’t happen at the Austin Psych Fest this past weekend.
