Yea... but were you hiding in their momma closet...?
You can be sure he would have shot you if he opened his closet in the dark and saw you in there.
Teenagers’ screwing around without their parents’ knowledge happens pretty often, too ... but since the outcome (a pregnant girl) affects the parents, they have a legitimate interest in dealing with it. Nothing “holier than thou” about it.
Stabbing is a strong response, but he was in the woman’s closet and she had no idea who he was. What would you think ... “My daughter’s boyfriend” or “Home invader”?
These days, single moms go into the kitchen, get a banana, come back and give the kiddo's a condom demonstration, then shut the door.
This is kind of sad. In so many ways.
That the mother is only 35.
That the girl is hiding boyfriends from her.
That the boy apparently didn’t even try, or didn’t get a chance, to explain?
And that the boy died.
And the mother feels she did a terrible wrong and her girl will also have this horror in her mind.
Calling the belt sander my 'tatoo remover' may have had an effect.
It helps thin the herd. :)

"How am I going to get the body out of here?"

She defended herself and her family apparently for good reason. Why else would the punk be hiding in HER closet?? He was dressed and in a hoodie.. Sounds to me like he had something else in mind.
Oh, and he was a good boy was was just getting his life together.
That’s an excellent point.
That was then. This is now. Now, girls don't graduate from high school until 18 and from college until 21-- a gap of 3 to 6 years. Also, sex leads either to children or abortion. Therefore, most American parents in the present day try to help their girls avoid living in one kind of sin or another until they are able to finish their education and pay their own way in life. Otherwise, you have a single mother with a job, a 15-year-old at home with one or more illegitimate babies, filth and squalor all around, and no man with a job anywhere in sight. It's called multi-generational poverty.
Both of them added in 'enlist' in that mix, but did it in the correct place.

Oh, the horror! Let’s call for banning knives!!
“Graduate, enlist, get married, have kids”? Seems like Anoreth is doing it right ... she’s still on “enlist,” for the 2nd time (just turned 22).
We were pushing ROTC, but she didn’t want school, she wanted two years in the Pacific.
Absolutely. Mammal females have a hard-wired response to threats to their young, which is to move away from them while rushing towards the threat. No way would she have called her daughter into her room and asked if she knew who this was in her closet. In her perception, he was an unknown intruder in thug uniform. Her instinct was to incapacitate him before he could rape or kill her or her daughter.
Darlin', you should be on Duck Dynasty.
In her closet at night. Based on the information we have, she might have reason to believe he'd already attacked and disabled her daughter.
I agree. It’s simply not wise to leave a teenager with many unsupervised hours. The opportunity for bad behavior or just bad luck (home invader chooses that apartment) is too great.
