This is so much Lyndsay Graham BS. Names are not the only information. Passport numbers are also checked. I assume Tamarlan’s passport was issued by Chechnya or Krysakstan (sp?)
WELLLL....Maybe the Russians misspelled his name, and actually had him confused with somebody else. /s>
“Did he pass through an airport immigration and/or customs agent - officers who are known to be quite thorough (at least used to be)?”
Well, I know of at least one Homeland Security agent who works at Boston International airport that is a member of the same mosque that Tamerlan Tsarnaev attended.
“Back at the new Boston Mosque, I met a man originally from Somalia who was wearing the headdress and robes often associated with negative movie images of Muslims. But he says he s a living example of someone who contravenes easy stereotypes. I work for Homeland security. And because he works for Homeland Security at Boston’s International airport (where the World Trade Center terrorists commandeered the planes that drove into the towers), he preferred that his name not be used.”

I thought passports had numbers on it. no passports scanned into a database? wow what a crapped up system.”
And Graham is touting the new immigration bill because they are going to “fix the system” so they know when someone has overstayed their visa and they can be turned over to the feds. Now that I know that, I’ll be sure to run right out and support it - NOT!
the govenrment is coverign hteir lame butts and lindsay is helpign htem do so- Just turn liberal graham- you’ve doen hte republican party far too much damage as a ‘republican’- at least if you put a D after your name, unsuspecting peopel won’t keep fallign for your BS
I mean, Really? So, now we know how to cover your ties to terrorists’. I think I’ll change mine from “saleman” to “salemen”. Hope this works for the IRS too.
These people really do take us for idiots don’t they?
At least he would have been able to vote, no matter how he name was spelled.
Yeah and they are running our healthcare now.
It would seem that no one has a real clue about who all is in the United States, where they came from, where they are now and when they were to leave. I would also suspect that there is not one single federal government data base that could be relied upon to provide correct information.
I was in our post office last night dropping off some letters. They used to have a slot on the wall for misaddressed mail. Now they have a huge box on the floor which was overflowing.
I asked one of our state legislators if anyone in our local government verifies documents of Medicaid applicants, like calling the state which issued the birth certificate presented to verify that that person was born in the state shown on the document. His response “I really doubt it”.
Now days, they scan passport. For international travel, they scan Green Card also.
Amnesty is lying.
hmmm...
That is such BS. Don’t they have programs that check for various spellings?? Utter nonsense.
Hmmmmm......is right!
It’s a BS excuse, they’re just playing CYA.
If his name on the airline’s passenger roster was not the same spelling as on his passport then how did the airline issue the bording pass?
Is someone traveling to somewhere outside the U.S. from a U.S. airport NOT required to use their passport in order to obtain their bording pass, and is not their passport checked against the airline’s passenger roster?

Well, maybe they just need to go on “safari” and blast some caged farm-pheasants.
