A week after a reported campus hate crime drew national attention, sparked protests and shut down the prestigious Claremont Colleges, police on Wednesday called the incident a hoax staged by a professor who slashed tires, shattered windows and spray-painted racist graffiti on her own car.
Claremont McKenna College psychology professor Kerri Dunn, who had told police that her car was vandalized as she spoke at a March 9 forum on racism, was identified by two eyewitnesses as the person who damaged the auto, authorities said Wednesday.
Professor Kerri Dunn vandalized her own car and then led "Stop The Hate" rallies on campus.

I can just imagine what her “counseling” will consist of. Will at any point will she be required to admit to herself that what she did was wrong on many levels, or will she just be “affirmed” in her “specialness”?
Only a week? It should get the same penalty that a normal person would if one had actually committed the crime.

anybody reporting a FALSE crime should have to do the sentence for what they reported... bet THAT would cut down some of this crap in a hurry

This might be a copy-cat case. I’d bet Up-Chuck was having financial problems. Perhaps foreclosure or she/he thought it was imminent.
A couple of years ago a lesbian and her squeeze in Tacoma, Washington did the same thing except the house burned up real good. Like Up-Chuckie, they claimed a bunch of racist, bigoted, homophobes assaulted them and torched their house.
Reality was they did it for the notoriety and insurance fraud. Both were convicted. As should. But, the lib’s that run the show out here buried all talk about those two. Seems like it is a common occurrence nowadays.
I think our government is close to doing the same thing.
