By the time they are powerful enough to take Australia, what makes you think America would be left untouched? They’d have all the material resources they’d need, to match their industrial capacity to build the fighting machine necessary to take over.

Add to that a colluding, runaway national government, and what is it that you can do? Please don’t tell me about civilian version, crippled, 3-shot burst “assault” rifles. The Afghans awash in automatic weaponry, RPGs and shoulder launched missiles have no chance against pilotless drones - the same ones the US government is building up local stocks of, for domestic use.

If "they" ever take America, likely there won't be anything left to justify occupation.

A rifle behind every blade of grass, unlike Australia (with little grass and few rifles) leaves only the use of weapons of mass destruction as a means to defeat US. The outcome of which the Bible describes in the destruction of Mystery Babylon, I fear.

Whether this be major cities or the entire nation, remains a mystery.

As far as taking America by conventional means, forget it. We have the ability to move a minimum of 10 million well equipped and well armed personnel to any part of the country within a 48 hour notice.

I do sincerely regret, under the current administration, we probably won't be able to assist you, as we were able to do in the past under more capable administrations.

I like your enthusiasm but the confidence almost wants to make me laugh.

Like I mentioned earlier, Afghanistan is awash with more than a rifle behind every blade of grass. The rifles are not civilian-mode, crippled models, but fully automatic ones. To that, they have RPGs and shoulder-launched missiles. Civilians.

What have they been able to do to stop the drones?

A runaway federal government is even more powerful with much more resources. They will take down every three-shot rifle behind those blades of grass without much trouble. The consequences of government-civilian asymmetry which the 2nd amendment was designed to protect against (which should have seen no curbs to the kind of weapons civilians are allowed to possess).

For all the talk, what happened at Waco? At Ruby Ridge? They will mow you down when they think you’re not worth the risk. And they are monitoring you, alright.

The google “chief” worried about privacy concerns? That’s a laugh. More likely, google wants to monopolize the skies so that others can’t compete with them.

I’ll accept that when I hear of the first military drone shot down by civilian weapons. Until then, it’s clear which side the power parity is biased toward.

If the government really had confidence in the citizenry, civilians wouldn’t have been restricted with 3-shot burst weapons, and pistols.

They monitor you so that they are always prepared to take you out with the least effort.

I’m actually in the US for most of winter every year. Texas and California, and sometimes, Washington and the New England area.

Of all the countries I’ve visited, the US definitely has a more aggressive, more interfering federal and state government.

So you do know what we're complaining and pissed off about. It used to not be this way. It's what happens when you have a runaway central government. America is much more than the 600 in DC, it is the state and local governments and its citizens that ultimately will prevail should a conflict arise here.

Our real worries are much larger. We are on the verge of something that will touch every nation on the planet and change the world as we know it now.
