This is misleading, if not inaccurate. The Congo Free State was the personal property of King Leopold II of Belgium from about 1880 to 1908, when the Belgian government finally took over.
Many of the administrators may have been Belgians, but they were not working for the Belgian government.
The genocide that took place under Leopold was indeed appalling.
and the Chinese could not care less what you say about them,
PC pressure does not work...
Years back, when the African nations were gaining independence, there was a cartoon that showed a native emerging from the ground, outside a high prison wall marked “Apartheid” only to look around and see an even higher wall labelled “Tribalism”.
Forty years later, life is still imitating art.
And with your statement, the negroes of the United States never had it so good, since Obama took over. His aim is to drive whitey into submission...the bushes belong to the afri ans, but you can’t take the bushes out the Africans....welfare, obamafones, foo’ stamps, disability, and all the other handout quirks. This is their sense of prosperity. Am I telling the truth or, am I just a racist bigot?
You speak the truth 100%. They’re getting their undue BS ‘reparations’ by ‘redistribution’.
If I said what I really think, I’d get DHS/FBI/SS breaking down my door.
Q: What’s the difference between black Africa and Detroit?
A: Nothing.
My bet is 20 minutes.
I know Mandela is reviled here but watch South Africa when he dies.
“Even Albert Schweitzer, the great Alsatian theologian and doctor who founded and sustained the Albert Schweitzer Hospital in Gabon (then part of French Equatorial Africa), subscribed to this view: The negro is a child, and with children nothing can be done without authority.
That is the money quote of the article.
We may just see a "Cowboys and Indians" scenario playing out, with the Chinese as the cowboys.
If European colonialism brought productive agriculture, modern infrastructure and a stable economic environment when none had existed prior, just how exploitive were they? If all this collapsed when they were killed or forced to flee, how is this a good thing for black Africans, other than the corrupt elite who are padding foreign bank accounts and letting it all go to hell? What is the true purpose? Racial cleansing? That honestly appears to be the only thing accomplished, other than a return to famine for many. Maybe all the screaming about colonialism was just a front for a bunch of Malthusians who believe in population reduction?
“Any bets on how soon these governments will appropriate the farms once said farms start producing successfully?”
I don’t know about the others, but I don’t think Mozambique will. They fell so far they wanted Portugal to administer them again (but Portugal wouldn’t). It isn’t just “producing”; it is maintaining the production (via repair work on farm equipment and such).
It is hard to imagine that these places were left with almost no skilled workers when the whites left; a friend was in Kenya both before and after independence, and he described having to show people how to use the telephone.
A little bit of what South Africa went thru in the '80s. Only this time, the Whites will be unarmed.
