Apparently Sanford couldn’t find a job.

He’ll probably lose and then we can take back the seat next November. And we’ll be rid of this flawed candidate for good. These politicians care more about themselves and their own careers than the cause or the country.

RE :”
Colbert Busch's campaign was quick to slam Sanford following his primary win.
“The families of this district need a representative who they can trust,” Colbert Busch campaign spokesman James Smith said. “Mark Sanford simply has the wrong values for our community — whether that's his terms as Governor or the last time he was in Congress, where he opposed commonsense measures like the Violence Against Women Act, which provides shelters and resources for domestic violence survivors. On issue after issue, Mark Sanford doesn't reflect the values of South Carolina.” I can see the Dems will work hard to make him look good to us.
Lets see how it goes

What happens if he wins?
He and his supporters will feel redeemed and we’ll be stuck with him for the foreseeable future, along with Lindsey Graham.

If he wins, he’ll be talked into supporting liberal legislation, like John Ensign was. Democrats and moderate republicans will praise and cajole him...until a democrat defeats him because he is a weak link, or the republicans in the district wise up and primary him out of office.

And again Republican’s shoot themselves in the foot by running the one candidate that can, and probably will, lose what should have been a slam dunk race. At least the late night comediennes will get some mileage out of Sanford...

But look on the bright side....Karl Rove will be his campaign manager in the 2016 race against Hillary...and there are plenty of folks on here that would vote for the putz

Come on, Mark Sanford? Aren’t republicans supposed to be smarter than that? Ridiculous.

If he only had the affair, I would say good for him. However, when you go AWOL for days without any notice or even a successor than you should be a cooked goose. I hope he loses because he will be the laughing stock for Republicans and we can get the seat back in November with a Real Conservative Republican especially for South Carolina.

So the GOP throws another race.

He and his supporters will feel redeemed and well be stuck with him for the foreseeable future, along with Lindsey Graham. And we'll stuck with that new "Evita" of a wife.

I couldn't agree more.
I am spectacularly uninterested in the marital fidelity of politicians. But a sitting governor who voluntarily disappears for days on end has abdicated his office and betrayed the public trust.
He has no business going anywhere near elected office, and I hope he's rejected in a landslide.
That the GOP has already given him a pass for inexcusable behavior is bad enough, but I hope the voters have slightly higher standards.

I highly doubt that. Sanford was consistently a fiscal conservative during his 3 terms in congress and the governorship and held a 92% ACU rating. Any mistrust of him is with his personal not his professional conduct. And if he really wants to salvage his reputation he’s going to have to be on especially good behavior.
I just don’t see reason for histrionics over his nomination.

Somehow South Carolina survived his absence—no South Carolinian diplomats were killed, Uruguay didn’t invade, and no asteroids fell on the state.

“Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.”
IMO, Jenny Sanford is waiting for the right moment to nuke her straying ex to the moon & back. Like his fling with the Argie is the ONLY naughty thing he’s ever done?
As a South Carolinian I am embarassed at this sordid sideshow. Electing principled conservatives in our state should be simple & easy, with or without the 6th District (James Clyburn). But it isn’t, sadly.
