Democrats. They eat compromise candidates for lunch.

I went to a beautiful Easter service on Sunday; Jeremy Camp led the worship singing......it served as a reminder that ALL of us are imperfect. It serves no one to harp on another’s misdeeds...I thank God everything I have ever done in my life is not on the national news.

If this gentleman wants to serve and help our country get back on track, I say I applaud his courage and God Bless him.

RE :”Romney was a compromise. And you want to do it again. It does not work! Conservatives compromise and lose every time”

1) Sanford is not running for POTUS. I am not even in his state.

2) I am non-committment in my comments on this thread.
I generally dont trust anyone till they prove themselves to me, alternatively I dont jump from thread to thread posting ‘I will never..” for each name that gets thrown out. I get nothing out of that.

3) Once Romney got the nomination as Sanford did then voting for Obama just didnt seem right.

He's running for public office. EVERY office is important!

Name a compromise candidate that has won since President McCain. At any level.

What? There isn't any? But you want to keep encouraging the same behavior...........voting out of fear? It doesn't work.

I’m not doing a damn thing. If you care enough to prove your BS claims you find me those phantom threads were “people from South Carolina” say he’s “way too far to the left”. I followed the movement to draft him for President, I saw no such comments, the SC freepers I knew supported him. Or better yet something more tangible than hearsay, show me where he voted for abortion, show me where he signed liberal bills into law.

Before his “hike” all I heard about was what a terrific fiscally conservative Governor he was. The only people that didn’t think so were RINO former democrats in the State legislature who’s pork barrel projects he vetoed.

This Upstater agrees with you. Makes you wonder who these conservative FReepers" are that are posting on this thread! In my estimation, not conservative FReepers with any knowledge other than what was fed to them by the S.C. political machine working tirelessly with the media in this State to get Sanford out of the governor's chair. Also, it's the same folks that still attack Palin from a continent away.

I'll not defend the way Sanford handled himself personally and politically at that time or even now. I detest all the apologies. But he was a more conservative S.C. governor than Nikki Haley will or can be.

IMO, a true conservative FReeper would be lamenting what happened to Mark Sanford but would not still be casting stones at him, as many on this thread are doing.

RE :”Name a compromise candidate that has won since President McCain. At any level. “

How does Mccain relate to Sanford? That is apples and oranges. McCain didnt cheat on his wife.

RE :”What? There isn't any? But you want to keep encouraging the same behavior...........voting out of fear? “

You see nothing to fear with Dems?
Marriage, immigration, guns?
None of those matter compared to Sanfords marriage adventures?

We just vote Dem till the GOP surrenders?

I been posting to see what his positions are on this thread the exact opposite of that.

Strawmen are always easy to beat. non-candidates are immpossible to beat, but perfect.

That’s hardly a strawman. Democrats absolutely cream Rinos and we “settle” for it. It’s time to stop.

Excuse me. This man ABANDONED his post and his staff LIED about his whereabouts (We don't know where he is, maybe hiking?...Try Argentina!). Then they all lied about where he'd been! For what? SEX.

When Clinton was playing with cigars and then lied about it Free Republic was up in arms. FReepers cited ethics and morality. We said a politicians personal life DOES matter. We said if his wife can't trust him, how can we?

Then we have John Edwards married to a dying and abusive woman. We cursed his lack of morality and ate his lunch.

Then along comes Sanford.............

And the hypocritical excuses start.

We held our nose and voted for a "less than perfect" (read disaster) candidate. Posters are stating that they'll hold their nose and vote for Sanford. He's a compromise candidate. They always lose.

It has been suggested that the Tea Party run a write in campaign. It worked for the Dems in Alaska! (Murkowski)

RE :”We held our nose and voted for a “less than perfect” (read disaster) candidate. Posters are stating that they'll hold their nose and vote for Sanford. He's a compromise candidate. They always lose.”

Lets try an example:
To me a Republican who either signs on to giving illegals citizenship OR looks to me like they are lying about it (first for it then changes to against it) is high on my-no-compromise list.

You can set yours to issues you think are the MOST important to you. If him running off with another woman is the top of your list then it is yours.
That is why we both get a separate vote.

If you think that abandoning his post to fly to Argentina for sex is okay and then to lie about, you have a problem.

When Clinton was playing with cigars and then lied about it Free Republic was up in arms. FReepers cited ethics and morality. We said a politicians personal life DOES matter. We said if his wife can't trust him, how can we?

Good luck with your choices.

Fear is a lousy reason to do things.

Resentment is just as bad a motivator.

But the RINOstream media “motivate” us on those things to stick to the GOP no matter what.

Well, I'll stick with what I posted to Impy. And just who are you to lecture me? I am not a child and don't appreciate being treated like one by any high-assing poster on FR.

If you thoughtfully read my post, it didn't seem to sink in with you. That, sir, is my response you, to whom the original post was not addressed.

I really don't care if you liked my honest and accurate post. You certainly gave YOUR unvarnished opinion.

I don't get my opinions from "political machines". Libs and Rinos do and morally, anything and everything is fine by them.

You weren't here for Clinton. FR was a VERY different place. Immorality and lack of ethics was NOT overlooked no matter the politicians party.

Exactly right. There are some kinds of folks I would never vote for--or even want to know, for that matter--and Sanford is a perfect example of that sort. I don't care if he claims to be the Second Coming of Christ.

Please excuse me; I just realized you are not a man. Your posts sound like a man's posts and are needlessly abrasive toward Mark Sanford.

It's my wedding anniversary and I regret I spoke so bluntly to any female FR poster. I respectfully defer the rest of this thread to you and the others on this thread with whom I disagree.

Bet you can’t even guess why women wouldn’t vote for Sanford. In that sense, there is PLENTY of truth in that thing about a “war on women” in the GOP.
