It’s hard to argue that if we’re talking about Democrats. Myself, I’ve decided I’ll never get between a Democrat and someone who wants to harm him/her because they’d do the same for me.

I don’t think the Jews who hold Christians in contempt care about the particular brand of Christian they choose to belittle at all. I’ve never believed that Jews even know the difference (theologically or in doctrine) between one stripe of Christian vs. another. Many of the “atheists” who start court cases for removing any evidence of religion from the public square are Jews, if in ethnicity only, and it’s beyond debate that that majority of Jews in the US aren’t what one could deem even remotely religiously observant.

But in polling, there’s a significant difference in “who supports Israel” and who supports Israel’s interests in US foreign policy. On that matter, there’s no doubt who is backing Israel: White protestant Christians in the US, especially the group that Jews like to mock the most, the Evangelicals. Catholics don’t rate as high.

Well, after hearing the various Jewish identity groups in the US attack my civil liberties and my character for owning guns, I’m through. Jews can go pound sand - literally.

I have never complained when Jews have made no distinction in belittling Christians with a broad brush. When they start getting all high and righteous and talking about banning guns as a mitzvah? OK, that’s it, I’m done and they go to the very top of my crap list.

Yea, the Six Day War was a pretty good showing for Israel.

The Yom Kippur War was decidedly less so. They pulled that one out by the skin of their teeth.

The next one? After we’ve given all these Islamic nations all this modern US military hardware, like M1 Abrams tanks to Egypt, F-15’s to Saudi Arabia, et al? I’m not taking bets either way.

And to be quite frank about the situation, it would appear that Israel has started to lose their nerve to take on those who want them dead. They seem to lack the nerve to finish off certain groups when they’re on the verge of being able to do so with only a few more days of effort. In 1967, there was no such lack of nerve. In the 70’s, there was absolutely no lack of nerve.

In the last 10 years? I’m not so sure.

The Yom Kippur War was decidedly less so. They pulled that one out by the skin of their teeth.

They mostly pulled through thanks to Richard Nixon. If the US government hadn't interceded with military and financial assistance, the Arabs would have overwhelmed Israel with sheer numbers and Soviet arms.

So you're right that without US support, Israel probably wouldn't be around today. You'd think they'd show a little more gratitude for it.

13) There are numerous members of the Republican Party, which gets roughly 50% of the vote nationally, that want to dump social issues so we can be more like the Libertarian Party, which gets about 1% of the vote nationally.

The reason the libertarian party gets <1% of the vote isn't because of their neutrality on social issues, there are plenty of fiscal and defense conservatives who just don't get worked up about gays, abortion, and other issues. The Libertarian's weak showing is mostly due to the fact that we have a winner take all system where a third party vote is rigged to be effectively no vote at all, while the political machines of both parties make sure that any third party (or dissidents within their own party who don't toe the line) get ignored or marginalized.
