If his own actions take him down the GOP will gladly welcome him back. Are you crazy? The NY GOP might welcome him back, but I actually have my doubts about that anymore.
I guess you're not familiar with his history, especially with why he joined the GOP?

I believe a good portion of the voting public has been unaware of the basic premise of the Second Amendment—that an armed citizenry is a safeguard against tyranny. Even some of the talking heads seem to think the debate is about hunters and gun shows. Making “gun violence” the distraction of the month has rallied conservatives and prompted them to publicly explain how the “right to bear arms” protects the other nine inalienable rights.
