Further, the report said word of the gun-smuggling operation within DHS never traveled beyond Arizona -- and claimed Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director John Morton and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano were never informed of the role ICE played.

A pack of lies if there ever was one. Obama and Holder knew from day one. They planned it.

Ice Agent Jaime Zapata Murdered While Investigating Fast and Furious Weapons

ICE Agent Jaime Zapata and his partner, Victor Avila, were ambushed at a fake roadblock in Mexico. Were they set up? If so by whom?

----------------------------------------------------------

While the weapons found at the Zapata murder scene were not from among the Fast and Furious guns, this revelation is profoundly significant, because it directly contradicts sworn testimony by Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano.

“I have no information to that effect, no. I don’t know one way or the other,” she replied to a direct question on any Fast and Furious connection by Rep. Michael McCaul, R-Texas.

Word games. Here's the little trick Napolitano, Holder and ATF are playing. F&F was an ATF operation run out of the Tucson AZ office. But some guns were walked out of Texas gun shops which puts them in the jurisdiction of Texas ATF offices so those ops must have had other names. So far I have not seen any reporting on what those op names were.

Armored SUV could not protect U.S. agents in Mexico

U.S. investigators recovered one of the military-style semi-automatic weapons used in the attack that killed Zapata.

The gun came from Texas.

Ballistic testing of spent shell casings and the raising of an obliterated serial number revealed the weapon was a popular Romanian-made AK-47 knockoff purchased at J&J’s Pawn Shop in Beaumont, smuggled south to the Zetas by a methamphetamine trafficker named Manuel Gomez Barba, a U.S. citizen.

who's to blame over the federal anti-gunrunning scheme known as Operation Fast and Furious exonerates top officials at the Department of Homeland Security, but paints a picture of ineptitude, ignorance and mismanagement at the DHS operations in Arizona.

If the DHS in Arizona was inept, ignorant, and mismanaged and their supervisors at higher levels did not know it, wouldn't that make them just as inept , ignorant, and mismanaged?
After all it is their job to know what is going on at lower levels of the organization.
One of the basic principles of management is that you can delegate authority but you can never delegate away your responsibility.

I’m really sick of the “botched/inept/mistakes/mismanagement” LIES. It was a concious plan and the media better start doing their job or they need to have the same punishment the perps are going to have.

Yep. Janet also has no idea why she purchased billions of rounds of ammo, armored troop carriers, and high-powered weapons for her own agency.

"Further, the report said word of the gun-smuggling operation within DHS never traveled beyond Arizona"

Either they knew about it and are guilty, or they didn't and are incompetent managers.

Either way, the top level peeps need to go with extreme prejudice.

It's a challenge from the top ~ they're IDing the badguys ~ but they've fixed it so these guys won't talk.

The solution is to dig in a little lower in the bureaucratic food chain to find the talkers ~ then we walk that up to Holder and Michelle Obama or whoever is convenient.

According to the report, on numerous occasions ICE and Border Patrol agents stopped vehicles smuggling guns to Mexico, but were instructed by the ATF and U.S. attorney's office to back off. Even after "suspects admitted to having transported weapons across the border five or six times," they were not arrested, and ATF did not "try to flip the suspects to get them to cooperate...

Somehow it doesn't sound like a sting - more like our boys were arming Mexican Drug Cartels... trying to blame the 'right wing' for owning guns... We're dealing with ... with ...
