There was one time when a homeowner was tormented by drunks pounding on his front door at odd hours, because the previous owner had been a party animal.
After greeting them several times with a gun, to tell them to sod off, which often took a long time to get through their head fog, he came up with a simple solution that generally worked. A powerful strobe light with a switch in his bedroom.
After getting flashed for a few seconds, they generally took off.
Bad choice of words; shows premeditation. A reverse OJ jury might hang him.
Cleanup might be costly. ServPro- like it never even happened!
If they'd had a bigger defense budget, the Indians would still have most of this continent...< /sarc >
I don’t blame the shooter AT ALL. But his choice of language was unfortunate “Please Hurry,I’m afraid the intruder might kill me. I’m don’t want to hurt him but will have no choice if he breaches the door.” This is Oklahoma so he is probably OK. In New Jersey, he’d be in big trouble.
It seems you should have had a gun a long time ago.
“Unless you live across the street from a donut shop, calling 911 is a waste of time...”
The little bank counter at the local grocery store was held up at gunpoint a few weeks ago. 100 feet down the strip-mall sidewalk two cops were at the Starbucks. The robber made a clean get-a-way. So it really is “When seconds count....”
“What is a burglar thinking about when they break into an occupied home? Is he stupid or does he think he is bulletproof.”
In the State of Washington there have been an uptick in the bad guys getting shot. From the net:
“Pierce County Prosecutor Mark Lindquist put it bluntly to the Tacoma News Tribune after a 19-year-old would-be burglar took a shotgun blast to the face Tuesday night.
Heres a lesson for potential burglars, he was quoted as observing. When you break into someones house, you take a chance youre going to get shot........
Tacoma Police spokesman Mark Fulghum told the newspaper that Weve found nothing at this point that (the homeowner) would be arrested for.........
As one Tacoma police officer told this column, would-be burglars should consider getting shot an occupational hazard. That just might serve to deter some people from taking up a life of petty crime and instead finding more gainful, and honest, employment.
Yeah I’m just a dumbass white guy who has lived almost his whole life on the Res.
Lucky for for me to be schooled by one so wise as you.
Though I must say your sudden presence—and yes your tone— indicate that you are a lib and likely a poseur and certainly someone with a very dull ax to grind.
We can agree on full auto, but you can skip the Swiss requirements and limitations. I’ll take American liberty, true American liberty, over it’s mere shadows.
“Stupid gringo.”
I used the words from your post.
How is that not just as offensive?
Yes, and let your lawyer do most of the talking then.
It exists on paper and in our hearts. We’ll get our rights back. The Swiss way is not the best way. Let’s not bow to convenience.
We have a very liberal castle doctrine here, which is surprising, really.
Last year we had two “crime sprees” and -everybody- got hit in spite of our place having more of what the thieves wanted.
The neighbor actually got suspicious of *us* because he got nailed both times and we went untouched.
Well duh.
Between the very “descriptive” posted signs, the security cams and a hundred pounds of canine crappy attitude trying to bite his way out the front window, he should wonder?
We’re proactive and make it clear -exactly- what’s gonna happen if somebody’s stupid enough to come in.
I’m too far in the boonies for cops to help.
I live life accordingly.
(”Trespassers will be shot and fed to dogs” seems to strike a really primal chord in people)....;)
Hillbillies...God love us crazy fools.
LOL
In my 20s the neighborhood I lived in was going through "changes" and break-ins were becoming common. Guns weren't a part of my self defense then. I had a .22 lever action rifle but I never thought of that as a self-defense weapon. I did keep a baseball bat behind my door though.
Yet I still left the doors unlocked and wide open in the summer even if I was in the back yard or in the basement. I acted crazy. People thought I was crazy and I let them. Not mean crazy either, just nuts. For some reason people didn't want any part of that. ;-)
When this song came out I thought it was written for me.
You should be administering CPR when the cops arrive.
