If you want to equate Catholics with Muslims that's your prerogative, but I suspect some of your coreligionists will take offense.
It does sound as if you're in an area that is overwhelmingly Catholic, and that you don't travel outside of that area very much.
The area I am in is not predominantly Catholic. I am not a Catholic. I keep up on current events. I am disappointed in protestant churches not speaking out against the evil in this administration. The only Christian church speaking out that I hear about in the news is the Catholic church. Why are the other Christian churches so silent when it comes to the evil in this administration?
And I have traveled a good bit. Been to several foreign countries, thank you. That was a mean comment about my travel.
The news is very selective about whom they cover.

“There are people in fact who say that he died in Havana in December and they just kept him on ice,” he said. “It doesn’t matter. The fact is that he is now officially dead and that the government in the person of Mr. Maduro is very weak.”
Reich added that Fidel Castro and his brother may be calling the shots in Venezuela.
“Maduro is the chosen candidate of the Castro brothers,” he explained. “Castro practically runs Venezuela. “The most important decisions for Venezuela are made in Cuba by the Cubans and implemented by the Venezuelans.”
