I don’t see how the conclusion can be avoided.
Do you believe any differently? It’s true, you know.
My son was getting picked on (verbally) by a kid in school. He told us, we discreetly told the teacher. She kept an eye out and the next time the bully said something to my son she called him on it. She brought the parents in for a meeting. The dad told her “Hey - I'm at work - my wife takes care of that stuff.”
The teacher replied “No - you're the father - act like one. And if you don't want to meet - your son is kicked out of school”. (A public school teacher!!) The kid and my son since became friends.
My daughter had another way of handling the class bully in 6th grade. Stabbed him in the arm with a pencil - even drew blood. He went screaming like a girl to the nurse's office with a pencil sticking out of his arm.
Thank goodness my daughter received a light reprimand from the Principal. The mom of the boy understood all too well. The boy is now home-schooled and doing VERY well with both his grades and his behavior.
My son was attacked by five Mexican students in the bathroom (he was born in Colombia and they always ridiculed his accent).
Guess what? He managed to fight off two when the teacher came in and suspended all of them, including my son. When I asked why, I was told he shouldn’t have fought back.
I changed school the next year.
Great stories, and good news on the outcomes. Thanks for sharing.
Excellent quote:
>> The teacher replied “No - you’re the father - act like one.”
Of course lots of these kids don’t have a father. Or it is a step-dad and somehow neither one views them as the “real” father.
Our local schools have done a good job on keeping down the bullying I think. The thing I worry about now that my kids are in High School is the booze and drugs. They are VERY clean and good kids - and so far they know the booze and drugs are bad. But I still worry about them - at least the youngest two.
Although the youngest one just told me her “life quote” that she made up for some project she was working on. It is “No one became great by doing easy things.” Pretty good for a 15 year old! (I couldn’t find it on the interwebs so maybe she DID come up with it on her own!)
My 7-year-old son is taking Tae Kwon Do. He broke his first board two weeks ago. I took a picture of the event and sent it to his teacher so that she could then show all of his classmates. Message delivered.
I began in martial arts when I was in school in the 70s and it was a Good Thing. And it’s still a Good Thing.
Definitely things to be concerned about especially when driving might be a component.
Sounds like you have good kids and hopefully nothing too serious to worry about.
No, the meek shall inherit the earth, you, not so much!
Actually, judging from the demographics of the town, this may have been a hate crime - but the kind that doesn’t get reported. Throw it into the bully category and it’s MUCH MORE effective at getting the liberal agenda pushed ahead.
I agree that this was probably a hate crime and swept under the rug by people who also happen to be black. http://www.sedelco.org/darby
We all know how this will turn out.
Why...why would any caring parent live in a place like that and subject their kids to those schools. There ARE cheap apartments, even in nice areas.
One of the problems is that the schools coddle the bullies.
The second is that the victims parents would rather lose their child than leave the system.
The bullies usually have no regard for life, which is a very bad problem. They used to have a stop button but killing a kid is OK these days.
From kindergarten, I knew how to deal with bullies, you beat them down. I spent most of my school years looking after the smaller kids outside and in the school. I don’t know why, my parents would often be furious with me for not walking away from a fight, but I couldn’t stand to watch someone being picked on or beat up.
I learned one thing from all that though. Bullies understand one thing... pain. You deliver pain, they change their tune quick, even to the point of becoming friends.
Old saying in the army... there’s no problem you can’t solve with excessive force... lol. I don’t actually believe that, I’m a Christian. However, Jesus says to love your neighbor as yourself, and if your neighbor is being pounded into the ground, I believe I have the moral obligation to intervene. It’s the right thing to do.
The stories coming out of schools these days is horrifying. I have three small kids and it looks like I need to find a homeschooling network of some kind or at the very least a private Christian school. My ex wife may try to stop me, but there is too much on the line to give up on this.
Well sure, you're a fabian.
Amen Thomas, God bless you as you bring up your children in his way. I truly wish we would see a lot more of this, I am trying to figure out a way I can do this. By myself and a working electrician, I am thinking I can only find a homeschool network and maybe pay them to take my kids as well. I will pray about this and further look into things.
Pure propaganda. The word fight connotes a mutual combat engage in by willing participants. This kid was ambushed and viciously attacked by a gang of thugs.
These pukes have been coddled their entire school career. Stepping into a modern government indoctrination center is like going Through the Looking Glass. Seriously. Bullies are protected and their victims are punished. These little cretins know they are protected and therefore do as they please. What can the school admins do? Detain them, suspend them, tell their parents? What a joke! Prison is not even a deterrent.
The colassal expense in time and money spent attempting to "educate" these troglodytes is a total waste. Digging a hole and dumping money into it would accomplish the same thing.
That’s why I used the word “. Point being with different puberty rates and growth hormones some poor kid who hasn’t even hit puberty yet may be getting an ass kicking from a thug life kid with the body of a full grown man.
That’s why I used the word some. Point being with different puberty rates and growth hormones some poor kid who hasn’t even hit puberty yet may be getting an ass kicking from a thug life kid with the body of a full grown man.
