Companies would be stupid to listen to such threats, these liberal mayors have nowhere else to go.

This may be a simple instance of political corruption. The mayor will look at each company’s contributions to his political opposition (the NRA) and determine whether the company will get a city purchase order. It is an attack on the NRA performed by threatening the NRA’s supporters.

Rybak is still angling for a spot in the BO White House. Widely rumored here before the election, now confirmed by the degree of butt snorkling Mr. Mayor is doing.

It is unlikely that Remington, Federal and Smith & Wesson would not be able to re-direct the merchandise requested on all orders shipping to the City of Minneapolis to other customers if Mayor R.T. Rybak is "not comfortable" with doing business with them.
He should submit all of his questions in writing to Remington, Federal Ammunition and Smith & Wesson.
It will only take about two years for Remington, Federal Ammunition and Smith & Wesson to free up enough time from fulfilling their current respective backlog of orders to customers that are NOT "reconsidering doing business with them" to respond with their respective answers.
At that time the good Mayor R.T. Rybak can decide if he is "comfortable" doing business with Remington, Federal Ammunition and Smith & Wesson.
In the interim they can make do with what the United States Border Patrol has to work with.

All firearm and ammunition manufacturers should refuse to do business with any government entity hostile to their existence.
Sometimes you just have to fire your customers. I’ve done it. A lot of you here have done it. It needs to happen in this circumstance.
I got a better idea, the manufacturers should blacklist the city and all direct suppliers to same. Let 'em pay a two middlemen markup and wait for parts and service.
If they don't like that, they can buy from Russia or China.
