Don’t think so. Do the research. DARPA started a competition on self driving cars maybe 10 years ago. It was so successful, they canceled it because it was no longer considered “cutting edge” enough.

And this was about cars that ran on a road dedicated to them? Yes, that is easy. Mix them with human drivers and address all the socially expected safety and liability issues? That’s a whole nother ball of wax and one that nobody, let alone DARPA, has met.
