Some take the easy, familiar path, attacking those who do the heavy lifting, yet who "fall short" of their critics' ideals and timelines (sullenly ignoring realities); these critics hold court from their well worn, familiar chairs of despair. No one worth their salt wants to join up with pessimists. They gravitate instead toward smart, go-getting optimists.
Levin says no telling right now how long it will take to right this ship. Our enemies within have been at this a very LONG time.
Reminds me of the book title, “While England Slept”. Only this time it’s America and it’s the enemy within. It would be appropriate for a book now to be entitled, “While America Slept”.
When you’ve observed the slow but inexorable attack from within for many years, but expect the ship to turn on a dime and right itself on your instant command, and when it doesn’t you either go it alone, or divide with a few others in a space about the size of an old phone booth, all because nobody exactly, precisely fits your bill and because you’re angry and depressed, you harm both yourself and your country (what’s left of it).
EXACTLY!
What is more important?
