Late night brawls at Denny's are du rigeur. Ask anybody who has ever worked at one.
They are often the only place open for the riffraff to go hang out after bar closing time.

Yes. I never worked at denny’s, but worked at a similar place in college. These 24 hour restaurants, after a certain hour, become our nation's homeless shelters/mental hospitals. For the price of a bottomless cup of coffee you have a warm booth to stay in for the night.
