I’ve never been more glad to buy a rifle than the brand new Colt M4 I bought a couple months ago!(my 2nd AR) I also have plenty of mags and ammo, but still wish I had more.(especially mags)

Exactly, but I did back order a pack.

I used to poo poo on the idea of plastic mags, but I got a few issued to me at work and they hold up well, and feed better than some of the more suspect metal mags.

Any form of research that produces new materials, tools, or increases the applicability of those that exist creates new wealth.

>> Poor Dick’s Sporting Goods losing all those sales LOL

I was in the Brighton, CO store’s gun counter some 5-6 years ago and asked to see a firearm. They asked to see my driver’s license. That’s the last time I have spent a dollar there. The PC bastages who set that policy can go to hell.

When I posted it said “click to back order.” $12.50 each and you wait a week or two is better than paying $50 for one. But some people just can’t be pleased.

Gunmakers and ammo makers need to start going 3 production shifts to keep up with demand.

At least your Wally-World sells guns/ammo; here in northern NJ they probably don’t even sell boxcutters...

When I was younger our local K-Mart sold rifles (which we can’t use to hunt in NJ anyway); they stopped that a long time ago.

Hey! You sound just like a "process engineer!" Happy traditional American holidays to you and yours, sir!!!

(just remember you can't get any new tools, new materials or any applicabilities unless the stuff to make 'em with didn't first be extracted from the earth's minerals/soils/hydrocarbons, etc. Right?)

The extractors of raw material like making that argument, but it is no more legitimate than the enviros claiming that "everything is connected." You can connect anything you want to mineral extraction, but you won't live long enough to make anything without topsoil and rain, and you won't get those without management of the life systems on the land. The point is, one can connect anything one wants to something else, but that doesn't make said connection legitimate to the contention at issue. No one element of the production loop is any less critical, particularly information management.

A math model is a tool. A software program is a tool. Both can preclude use of vast amounts of wasted physical raw material and are therefore equivalent in value to production thereof, yet require virtually no raw material at all. Human intelligence is as important to a productive planet as are its raw materials, both gifts of G_d with which to fulfill the glory of His creation.

It doesn't ALL start with rocks.

Alright then... how about a combination of water and dirt called mud? Really I won't discount the magic of G*d given human intelligence as I marvel at many that have been accomplished for sure.

I just marvel at the people who don't realize that water, hydrocarbons, minerals and metals and other raw materials along with plant life all come up out of the crust of the earth, but as you say are inert without the magic of G*d's greatest creation... the creatures created in his image.

It just cracks me up the way EnvironMentalists try to turn the concept of "resource extractors" into a despicable pejoritive term. They try to convince everyone that neither man, nor petroleum are naturally a part of G*d's blue/green earth.

Considering how mining has and is occasionally still done, the term is often deserved. What I don't understand about mining is why they don't turn the site into something useful and interesting when they're done. Hell, they could even hire a watercolor artist to arrange the tailings into interesting array and make something beautiful.

It can be done you know.

There are very strong mining reclaimation laws in CA these days. I’m not happy with the Sierra Club’s combative position in the 80’s and early 90’s... “Mining Free by ‘93” for example.

Gunmakers and ammo makers need to start going 3 production shifts to keep up with demand.

I've read many companies who make "assault" rifles and high-cap magazines have halted production altogether until they know what, if any, new gun laws might be on the horizon. They don't want to get stuck with a huge inventory of items they're no longer allowed to sell.
