This undated photo shows staff members checking a carrier-borne J-15 fighter jet on China's first aircraft carrier, the Liaoning. China has successfully conducted flight landing on its first aircraft carrier, the Liaoning. After its delivery to the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy on Sept. 25, the aircraft carrier has undergone a series of sailing and technological tests, including the flight of the carrier-borne J-15. Capabilities of the carrier platform and the J-15 have been tested, meeting all requirements and achieving good compatibility, the PLA Navy said. Designed by and made in China, the J-15 is able to carry multi-type anti-ship, air-to-air and air-to-ground missiles, as well as precision-guided bombs. The J-15 has comprehensive capabilities comparable to those of the Russian Su-33 jet and the U.S. F-18, military experts estimated. (Xinhua/Zha Chunming)

All of the other fighters,
Used to laugh and call it names.

Dear Chicoms:
Call you and raise you one.
USS Reagan. Choose your battles carefully, and funding ObamaDebt may not be a good idea.

Also note that the Political Commissar is listed ahead of the Captain in the array, and both display 4 star epaulettes. How long until ours does the same, as they're already inserted into the forward ops groups on the ground.

lol great post. in 1942 Doolittle was practicing taking off these AH are just trying to land. When called upon we take it to em.
To: GeronL
They use the ramp because they don’t have the catapult technology to launch. I think it also limits the take-off weight in comparison - maybe Jeff or one of our other NavAir FReepers can give us more info if they comes on thread.

China has successfully conducted flight landing on its first aircraft carrier,... Which means China's most experienced carrier pilot has exactly one carrier landing under his belt. Awesome.

Eveyone on this thread keeps belittling China, but aren't *they* the creditor while *we* are the borrower?
I'm just not sure we have any room to be critical of them.

Must inspire great confidence in their test pilots to have the aircraft painted up like a crash-test dummy.
