Stop all immigration: legal and illegal. These bastards are changing the values, principles, and ideals this nation was founded on with a rich Judeo-Christian tradition based on free market principles and the values of western civilization. Time to stop all immigration legal and illegal immigration.

Well, it was out today that Asians went for Dems 73%.

I really don’t care what a good worker anyone is.

Your primary reason for coming to this country HAS to be that you love this country and want to be an American and protect and defend America.

That means assimilate culturally, even if you preserve your culture at home. Too many are coming here for the big jobs, the big houses, the big money, the big handouts.

We need to massively slow ALL immigration until we get back to assimilation and preserve our culture. It should be automatic when our unemployment rate hits 5%.

Why does everyone think American hispanics want all illegals given amnesty? Many don’t and this is the group that we have to convince. I really think it’s a GOP communications and image problem with many hispanics. Basically, many hispanics feel (and the democrats reinforce this feeling) that Republicans truly don’t like them or consider them equal citizens. Republicans are new media stupid and like to nominate bland boring guys like Romney. If we had the right candidate who actually made a good faith effort to court conservative hispanics, the Republicans could still oppose amnesty and get enough hispanic votes to win. Perceptions are hard things to change. Republicans need to work on that false perception before it becomes ingrained. Abandoning our principles won’t change that perception, but an active outreach using Spanish-language media and good more culturally attuned candidate might just improve things.

Maybe they can also get the felon vote for the GOP. Good luck with that too. If the illegal aliens REALLY want a “fast track to citizenship”, they wouldn’t have a Mexican flag license plate on the front of their car when they pull up to the welfare office. It’s not rocket science boys!

Yes, that’s great.

Most Cuban-Americans (like many Russians and anyone who has lived under hard socialism) value freedom more than most Americans.

But the Cuban-Americans are a very small fraction of the overall “latino/hispanic” vote.

One of the good points Romney made (and he was hammered for this because it was true), is that a certain percentage of the population will never vote for anyone other than their sugar-daddies in the DNC. That includes an overwhelming majority of the latinos.

The only way the GOPE could ever hope to win their votes would be to appeal to the on the cultural issues. You know, the ones the GOPE is currently running from and using to ridicule and denounce conservatives.

I’m sure they’ll do a 180 and embrace those cultural values to win that vote.

I can hear you laughing from here.

Get rid of every illegal alien quick!!!

Give employers (or any individual) employing an illegal 30 days to fire them and after that anyone caught employing one gets fined $10,000 and 5 years in prison for a second offense!

They will self deport with no way to live!

So the GOP really believes that “Hispandering” will do the trick? Do that and you will see a major portion of the base (like myself) totally abandon them, while Hispanics continue to overwhelmingly vote democrat.

The GOP have no one but themselves to blame for this mess they have gotten themselves into. I believe the GOP never really cared about enforcing immigration laws as long as “big business” got their cheap labor. And of course, the GOP was only too happily willing to accept bribes (in the form of campaign donations) from “big business” in order to keep their mouths shut.

Reagan granted amnesty. Bush 41 did nothing. America was attacked on 9/11 and Bush 43 did nothing to seal the border. I would love to know why the GOP has been so soft on stopping illegals. Did they really believe that enforcing immigration laws would turn hispanics away from voting republican?

Now we have a demographic problem and the GOP is in a no-win situation. Take a hard stance on illegals and they will be seen as racists. Pander to hispanics with anything that remotely sounds like amnesty and great numbers of the base will abandon them.

Way to go GOP. There is a reason why they are called the stupid party.

Maybe we can learn from Jeb Bush’s media savvy, but bail on his amnesty talk. Just because we don’t agree with someone doesn’t mean we can’t learn from them. I can’t stand Obama’s policies, but I think we can learn a thing or two from his very successful use of pop culture. While watching the “Walking Dead” on AMC, I saw two political ads from Obammy. I did not see anything from Team Romney. Some might scoff at the idea of advertising on such a show, but since it’s the highest rated show on cable with a “youngerish” and persuadable demographic, Romney missed an opportunity iMHO.

Also, more germane, lots of Spanish language television around here. I occasionally watch it to keep up my Spanish. I saw lots of democrat ads (very biased, of course) during the election campaign and 0 repubs ads... We have got to do a better job with that.

GOP is losing the younger generation of Cubans, to whom totalitarian Cuba, is but an unfamiliar bogeyman of their Grandparent’s nightmares. They are becoming Americanized in a bad way.

Yes, but most Hispanics in the States are from Mexico and they hate the Cubans. They resent Cubans receiving special treatment. This is why I don't understand why Republicans are so crazy about Rubio. The Hispanics I work with can't stand him.

This is about illegal Mexicans, not about race, not about Hispanics. The GOP should embrace culturally conservative Hispanics. They should also advocate sending illegal Mexicans home where they can line up like Hispanics from other countries and securing the border. Hispanic-Americans should be the sole GOP spokespersons on the topic, making the distinction clear. They must speak with one voice in both languages and take this tough position.

It’s much more valuable politically to seek new white voters for the Republican Party, not Hispanics.

Hispanics were just 10% of the 2012 vote.

Whites were 72% of the 2012 vote.

If we increase our share of white voters by 1%, we would get 7 times more votes than if we increased our share of Hispanics by 1%.

The Hispanic vote is estimated to reach 20% in the future, and the white vote is estimated to drop to 60%.

Even with that ratio, white voters still maintain a 3 to 1 ratio, so seeking an increase in white GOP voters still makes more sense than compromising our principles to gain Hispanic Socialist voters.

RE :”22 November 2012 The head of Mitt Romney's campaign to attract Latino voters during the presidential election has warned fellow Republicans that unless they embrace immigration reform they are in danger of destroying the party's reputation as the guardian of economic freedom and prosperity.
Carlos Gutierrez, former commerce secretary under George Bush and the man who spearheaded of Romney's outreach to the Hispanic community, has called on the Republican party to drop its perceived hostility towards the 11 million undocumented immigrants in the US or risk alienating the increasingly powerful Latino vote. He has set up a Super Pac called Republicans for Immigration Reform to instill new thinking within the conservative movement. “

Carlos Gutierrez :
The head of Mitt Romney's campaign to attract Latino voters during the presidential election’ and
who spearheaded of Romney's outreach to the Hispanic community
????

Looks like he failed miserably. Why the hell should we listen to him?

Illegals and economic freedom?? Will they vote for tax cuts or food stamps and Obama-Care.

Re: “Romney Won 60% of Cubans”

Cubans make up 4% of the total Hispanic vote.

96% are not Cuban.

Non-Cuban Hispanics vote almost 75% for the Democrat Party.

Even at that he lost the FL Hispanic vote. And I thought I’d seen the exit poll had shown he’d narrowly lost the Cuban vote as well?
