There are all sorts of possibilities, like you shot and incapacitated (maybe), but you have to walk away to get to a phone, or to tend to someone who is injured.

They are real handy especially if they practically need bolt cutters to remove.

And a LOT quicker to use than rope or a lamp cord.

I strongly recommend against trying to tie someone up with rope, wire, or tape, because it is extremely hard to do it right in such a way as to minimize the chance of escape.

My preferred tool is 175 lb. test dual lock nylon zip ties. Even if they are a muscle man on PCP, they would tear their arms out of their sockets before they would bust out of those.

Importantly, even if they have a confederate who will help them out of those, they are very hard to cut.
