Target keeps Thanksgiving opening despite complaints

Why can’t they all open up say at 6AM Friday morning? Why not extend it to Black Saturday too? Being closed on Thanksgiving Day is going to destroy their profits? Not buying that nonsense nor shopping on Thanksgiving night either. Scrooge ‘em all.

This whole “Black Friday” crap pisses me off.

Even moreso when it happens Thanksgiving THURSDAY!

Then again, I’m pro-capitalism.

Amazing, the cascade of drivel here, how great it is to wallow in the squalor of black Friday, how so many other people have to work the holiday(irrelevant), how "It's my right to be a hog by damn and if I want to squat outside BestBuy on Thanksgiving like a homeless tramp, I'm going to do it."

Apparently even socalled conservatives have lost all concept of what a holiday is for. Something called "observance."

Yes cops work and nurses work and all the rest, but where the option is there it should be honored. Nobody suffers or dies, no public interest or safety is involved if retail stores respect the observance of the day and stay closed.

And don't give me this crap about how they "have to make a profit." Duh. They have made profits for generations while honoring holidays, and they don't seem to have suffered financially all these decades.

I don't intend the government to force the issue--it is not a matter of law, but of civil respect for the culture that made us and which we ostensibly celebrate. If the only culture we celebrate is "shop till you drop," then this nation is dead anyway-- we may as well bring on the Obamacaust and be done with it.
