Red Neck ain’t gonna draw an analogy between Fightin’ Fundie Evangelical Christian faith and Mormon faith... any more than he’d draw an analogy between his huntin’ dawg and a pile of garbage on the street....

I would’ve argued that you are the king of the malaprop, but no big deal . . . I understood what you meant, anyway.

No, he or she did not. I refer you back to my comment #189:

You might not have liked the answer, but it was as I explained. Don't be getting all pissy just because you didn't like the answer --- or are so dense you could not understand the meanings. Another here already explained it to you further, gently breaking it down for you.

A little bit of acknowledgement of that -- and how the meanings alluded to in the answer could be made to apply to the question you posed -- would go a long way.

Kinda’ funny. After all this time, still no answer to my question. Just people spinning and pretending that one was given.

a muslim is unacceptable

You do realize that was the answer he was looking for, don't you? Now how might that apply otherwise, in the context of the exact conversation?

Timing, and exact wording can be almost everything. :^)

In case you would like to answer with a simple yes, no, maybe, or I don't know: the question was, "am I damned to burn in Hell for eternity for recruiting an idol-worshipping heathen to play on my softball team?"

John 3:16 doesn't cut it, I'm afraid.

Rudey, Rudey, Rudey.

I told you [as best as this old red neck knows] NO, but also pointed out you’re energetically dodging a larger question.

I’m referring to a question I posed much earlier, before you arrived.

Ya know, it’s like the career burglar who told his son that he was punishing him, not for stealing the cookies, but for leaving the fingerprints.

Ok, my mistake . . . what is the larger question that I allegedly am dodging?

[Audience laughs]

One could hem and haw about circumstances, motivations, intents, and all in that one act. There’d be nothing I know of in the bible forbidding it, at the least.

But the bigger issue is that man is just plain mired in SIN. We can’t do anything quite completely right the way God wants it. Whether it’s inviting the idol worshiper to play ball or whether it’s walking down the street. Man is fallen and does everything fallenly. The only answer is to put one’s faith upon the eternal unfallen Savior.

Ok, let’s get larger. Does this (Buddhist) man’s sins transfer to me, somehow, because I chose to have him bat in my 3 spot, instead of preaching him the Gospel?

Why must I be the one to dredge it out? (I missed the coding last time around, and the link did not appear) HINT: go to your OWN post, hit "view replies".

Now, if you are going to continue to play dumb, since the meaning was hidden to you, then this must all be far above your pay grade. Which is bad news, since it's part of the "milk" of the Word...

You asked the question. It was answered (1st Amendment) as I explained. Then one other than myself broke it down and explained what should be obvious, even rudimentary to basic understanding towards your question.

Jesus spoke in parables. Should we all get mad at Him for "not answering the question"?

Well, that raises an interesting issue whether failure to preach the gospel when God would want it, is considered a sin for those who just can’t DO it. I’ll equivocate here and say maybe, I don’t want to get into the fine points about circumstances, etc.

But in any case, it’s not a bunch of individual sins, which indeed can each be forgiven, but something more like “solid sin” that brings damnation. And short of salvation, all men are stuck in that “solid sin.”

To: 1rudeboy

Also if God wanted you to preach and you could and didn’t, it wouldn’t be a case of the other guy’s sins transferring to you. It would be a case of your own separate sin. I think you’re confusing the theological explanation of the way sin is shared in mankind, with acts like this. So yes, both of you shared some sin, but no, the sharing was not due to that particular encounter. The bible doesn’t spell out a whole lot about how sin was shared in the beginning, except by positing a falling sin event in which the souls of all humankind somehow willingly joined (including, of course, Adam and Eve). And we have other references that say that God made man innocent in the beginning. When we try to use our human philosophy on this we just plain fail. No more could this ole Red Neck explain how his huntin’ dawg eats, barks, and runs after game.

If someone asks what is 2 + 2, and someone else replies, John 3:16, is the question answered, or not? You guys crack me up.

LOL
