Yeah, let's waste some more time and money on the taxpayer's dime!! We already know that zero will approve the DREAM Act by EO and Congress will have no say. So why bother with the charade??

If this is the actual response from the GOP leadership, then it is official: The GOP is finished as a party.

The only lesson for the GOP to take from this election is that running as Dem-lite is a losing proposition for everyone but the Dems. Romney didn't get the base motivated, even with a President that has an atrocious record. Romney did not pull ANY votes from the Left, even in his own state.

Given these facts, there is NO reason to try to siphon votes from the Left. Thus, the primary focus going forward should be the base, the independents, and motivating those who are eligible, but do not register or vote. Clearly, going Dem-lite does NOT attract those voters, as we just saw, with tragic results, 3 days ago. If the GOP tries to go Dem-lite, then they are finished, period.

Do you have locks on the external doors of your house?

If so, why?

Most Hispanics like most blacks are bought and paid for by the Democrats. Rewarding illegal acts isn't going to change that.

The GOP needs to make amends with conservatives if it wants to win elections.

In Washington, there is only one party. They just play good cop/bad cop to keep us believing there's really a difference. That's why the Republican elite wants the Tea Party destroyed.

You've got that right, and looking at the difference between the elections of 2010 and 2012, they were very successful. Too bad they aren't that successful in other endeavors. The GOP loves big government just as much as the Democrats, but they like the Democrats to take the blame for it.

Those slaves refuse to do much more than complain. Come election time, they will be good little Republicans and vote for whoever the GOPe tell them to vote for.

What austerity measures? The gov will just stick it to the middle class and businesses with tax increases and money printing to appease the parasites. The slaves will continue to pay through nose and do nothing much about it.

LOL. Based on the sorry post election performance of the GOP, if I had to vote today it wouldn’t be 3rd party. It would be to vote DEM. If the two stooges bungle this we need to hammer the loser GOP in 2014. Best way to do that after the primary is to elect more Dems and get ready for 2016.

I wouldn’t say that Sean Hannity is a dim bulb... but even at his brightest setting, I can’t say that he rivals a neon bulb for illumination of any issue.

You’re absolutely right. I don’t know if any of them believe what they say. Rush might and Levin might but I’m not sure

The base allowed the nomination of Mr. Comprehensive Immigration Reform himself back in 2008. What makes you think things have changed. The GOPe know conservatives don’t have the will to do little more than complain.

Regarding federal policy on immigration, please consider the following. Regardless what activist justices said about state power to regulate immigration, note that Vice President Thomas Jefferson's stance that government power to regulate immigration belongs uniquely to the states, a stance which he justified in the context of the 10th Amendment, probably helped him to be elected the third president of USA.
"4. _Resolved_, That alien friends are under the jurisdiction and protection of the laws of the State wherein they are: that no power over them has been delegated to the United States, nor prohibited to the individual States, distinct from their power over citizens. And it being true as a general principle, and one of the amendments to the Constitution having also declared, that "the powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people (emphasis added)," the act of the Congress of the United States, passed on the -- day of July, 1798, intituled "An Act concerning aliens," which assumes powers over alien friends, not delegated by the Constitution, is not law, but is altogether void, and of no force." --Thomas Jefferson, Draft of the Kentucky Resolutions - October 1798.
Sadly, activist Justice Scalia stopped short of including Jefferson's inclusion of 10th Amendment wording when Scalia referenced Jefferson in his dissenting opinion in Arizona v. USA.
'Jefferson’s Kentucky Resolutions insisted “that alien friends are under the jurisdiction and protection of the laws of the state wherein they are [and] that no power over them has been delegated to the United States, nor prohibited to the individual states, distinct from their power over citizens.”' --Justice Scalia, Arizona v. USA (page 5).
To me, Scalia's sanitizing of Jefferson's reference to 10th Amendment is déjà vu of FDR's activist justices watering down the 10th Amendment in Wickard v. Filburn. Here's what was left of 10th in Wickard.
"In discussion and decision, the point of reference, instead of being what was "necessary and proper" to the exercise by Congress of its granted power, was often some concept of sovereignty thought to be implicit in the status of statehood (emphasis added). Certain activities such as "production," "manufacturing," and "mining" were occasionally said to be within the province of state governments and beyond the power of Congress under the Commerce Clause."--Wickard v. Filburn, 1942.

So given the USSC's decision in Arizona case,I will argue that there are actually less Constitution-respecting justices than we think.

Jihadis.

Seriously, I get your point, and I don’t disagree with it. Border security is necessary. Especially to keep out terrorists, criminals, and drug dealers.

However, that does not solve the problem of illegals who are currently in the country, and who are not criminals. If we were serious about getting rid of them, we would place serious sanctions on employing them. There doesn’t seem to be a political will to do that. These people came here, because Americans wanted them here to cut lawns, clean houses, and do any number of other menial jobs. If they didn’t, they wouldn’t employ them.

The fairist solution is something along the lines of what Gingrich has proposed.

When someone says something like:

"Like kicking out every illegal alien and their demon offspring. Kick out the 2nd and 3rd generations of illegal alien demon spawn"

I think they deserve a warranted personal attack. I'm disappointed that I'm the only person around here to think so. Speaking of personal attacks look up cabron a term EG used. To your other point. Yes, we want everyone in America to become good Americans. As a white Catholic, I know a lot of Latinos. Guess what, they are good Americans. They pay taxes, fight our wars, work hard and raise nice families. I've never asked how their ancestor's got here. For all I know they've been here since California was part of Mexico. The present non-system of immigration makes it almost impossible for the illegals to assimilate. Yet, the majority of Americans want them here to do menial jobs. It is a terrible system, and it needs to be fixed.
