Thanks JR, for this site and your thoughts!
Jim, you were so effing right about Mitt Romney.
I felt the same way but wavered when he got the nomination.
Newt, Cain, Bachman, Perry, Santorum...... Oh what might have been.
Well said Jim, and thanks for the post.
Right on, Jim. The bell is tolling.
It is a strange world that liberalism seeks to foist upon all. . It is a world in which there are to be no moral absolutes, in particular those that are Biblical, and thus we cannot definitely say that such things as profanity, pornography, pre-marital sex - and killing the life which often results from the latter, are truly wrong.
It is a world which cries separation of Church and State when some vestige of Biblical law or morality is heard in schools, while the religion (belief system) of secular humanism insidiously supplants it.
It is a world in which people seem to see those who are punished for legitimate crimes as victims, where imprisoned felons should vote, and Mr. Arafat the terrorist is seen as a hero.
A world where civil rights and moral wrongs are confused (homosexuality), and are to be foisted upon every man, women and child as wholesome, normal and even necessary.
It is a world in which all who oppose them are labeled intolerant, hateful (and homophobic) bigots, yet it is the liberal world which most often hypocritically censures those who dare disagree with them, and who instead (hopefully) point souls to the beneficial, Biblical way of repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus.
This is ultimately a spiritual issue, as there is an ideology behind liberalism, which is from Hell, that of climbing up some other way (Jn. 10:1) to power, etc. than thru merit, which the devil tried, (Is. 14), and the victim-entitlement mentality which calls the worthy to share the wealth, power and position with those who demand it, and who feel justified in taking it, which the devil worked to instill in Eve. (Gn. 3)
i tell you soberly that todays pre-college (secular seminary) youth are the most open to any ideology than ever before. And as saith Daniel Webster,
If religious books are not widely circulated among the masses in this country,become of us as a nation. If truth be not diffused, error will be; If God and His Word are not known and received, the devil and his works will gain the ascendancy; If the evangelical volume does not reach every hamlet, the pages of a corrupt and licentious literature will;
If the power of the Gospel is not felt throughout the length and breadth of the land, anarchy and misrule, degradation and misery, corruption and darkness will reign without mitigation or end. (Tryon Edwards, A Dictionary of Thoughts: Being a Cyclopedia of Laconic Quotations from the Best Authors of the World, Both Ancient and Modern ,1908. p. 49)
So well stated Jim.
Tears flow readily here in our home now. Our hearts are broken.
America as I knew it in the 40’s is no more.
Indeed Tuesday, November 6th, 2012 was a sad day for the USA.
May God help us.
Polly
Been a lot written lately but that is short and precise....worth sharing and repeating.
Jim, you have to understand that the 1-12 indoctrination centers (public schools) have turned out the young voters of the last election and now an even more rabid set have turned out for this election. On top of that, the finishing schools for liberal zombies (college) has also unleashed a new batch on us too.
Rome fell due to the sole attention of “bread and circuses” and now it’s our turn. Free stuff, no one responsible for their actions, “if it feels good...do it, and a whole host of irresponsible actions due to the lack of punishment and enforcement of laws and rules.
The only hope is a viable and strong third party or outright revolution to restore dignity, order and to protect our heritage and Constitution as written.
Don't forget, They're also anti-military and want to take weapons away from us all....
Thanks Jim for this post. Couldn’t agree more with what you’ve stated.
Sure glad I joined FreeRepublic a few years ago. Shoulda done it sooner so I wouldn’t be known as a “Newbie”. :^)
Jim, you are absolutely correct. The statist doesn’t recognize God, and doesn’t recognize that we have eternal souls. Because of that there are no inalienable rights and to the statist, a man is nothing more than a piece of meat, to be disposed of as the state sees fit.
There will be one we foot in this world, and one in the next because .......
Hebrews 9:27 And it is appointed once for man to die and after this, the judgment.
Jim -
In the wake of a crappy election and you dealing with PITA website issues, your contribution to people’s lives, and I’ll speak for myself - mine, intentional and not intentional, is ... pretty damn big in comparison.
Thanks for the work and care ...
“The Declaration and the Constitution are just quaint documents from a bygone era and no longer apply. “ Scalia said as much today when he mentioned how hard it is to be an originalist in this era. Can we ever go back?
Thanks for your insights, always so well expressed.
I think we all have to be very worried for the future of our Constitutional Republic after Tuesday’s tragedy. We all need to double down on our commitment over the next four years to try to hold the damage done to a minimum. It will be hard work, and discouragements many.
Free Republic will become even more important to our lives than ever before, so let’s all recommit to supporting JIm with all we have.
I was about to post the lyrics to that! You beat me to it!
