So, all is well in the Big Apple.
These people had over a week to evacuate or to prepare for the storm. Three days after the storm hit they were standing in debris screaming bloody murder. I have lived on hurricane-prone coastal lands much of my life, and I’m having trouble understanding exactly what turned a storm into a human disaster of epic proportions. If you refuse to evacuate danger zones or make reasonable preparations, you have to endure the consequences. As the old sign said, “A lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine.”
While clinging to their Bibles and guns.
Now what does that mean? Sheesh! How petty can you be?
I think Staten Island used to be Republican.
We should set up a hunger relief organization that requires the presentation of a voter registration card in the soup line. If the card says Democrat, tell the holder to remove themselves from line and go see a government representqative for food. Feed the republicans only.
The problem with this idea is that the Republican card holders are much less likely to be in a soup line.
Volunteers Step Up. Here in the rural Midwest this is S.O.P. , not a headline.
And my father was telling me Staten Island is Republican, and I was telling no they are not, it’s NYC, one huge sphincter hole of liberalism. And isn’t it curious about this “gas shortage” here? I grew up in NYC where we’ve had storms just as worse as this, snow storms that shut the city down for weeks, ice storms that froze everything solid, 911, black outs for weeks, and the last “gas shortage” we had was when Jimmy Carter was POTUS. Now they are putting people on gas rationing?
“If you refuse to evacuate danger zones or make reasonable preparations, you have to endure the consequences.”
Most of these people are not in evacuation zones; the zones should have been expanded. This is not a “hurricane-prone” area; a hurricane has not hit NJ since 1903 (and Sandy wasn’t even a hurricane by the time it hit). This was just a horrible timing of events (as far as much of the NY damage is concerned); for NJ it was something at least seen before on a reduced scale.
“Now they are putting people on gas rationing?”
They have to balance the needs of drivers with the needs of people that will freeze to death without gasoline for generators; it is a temporary solution to an unforeseen problem. Here in NJ (with even/odd days for fueling up - no 10 gallon limit) the gas rationing has reduced the lines considerably (and didn’t apply to people with gas cans).
Converts to the GOP? What you been smoking ? These folks are so brainwashed you could load them onto cattle cars to gulags & would still vote for the bastards running the trains to the camps.
“These folks are so brainwashed....”
It’s worse than that...much worse.
IMHO
“BTW did Whorealdo ever visit Staten Island?”
Yes, he was pretending to be under fire from the waves.../s
Exactly. The ONLY reason Obama toured the area was for good pre-election PR. He doesn’t care about the suffering.
This was on CBS radio this morning. Now that the election is safely behind them, they can report on the situation in NY. 10 days after the fact.
Amazing how fast the victims dropped off the national medias radar once the election was over. No matter what news channel I turn to on tv, it’s obama, obama, obama.
Boy the MSM going to jump all over Obama on this! <
Pravda couldn’t care less about the victims now and will continue to ignore them.
FEMA Administrator Craig Fugate said the agency is helping, and urged people to go to www.disasterassistance.gov
As of Thursday morning, more than 4,000 people were without power on Staten Island.
Now I may be mistaken, but doesn’t going to an internet website require, hmmm, power?
I have so much disdain for this old jackass, I do not understand why he is on Fox but ever since the election I haven’t watched Fox don’t want to see the so many libs that seem to be on Fox now. I think in a couple of years Fox will be no different than any other news station.
