thanks for the encouragement Jim
sorry I didnt ante up this round but I am laid off from my local12 union public works construction job( along with 10,000 others in the local) since the "shovel ready jobs werent so shovel ready"
so while collecting unemployment and calling in every day to see if any "shoveling" is needed I started to manufacture parts in the shed, I made $1200 so far over the past two months but a lot of that went to reinvest in materials and mortgage, I will kick in when I start to profit.
hopefully I can get off the government tit altogether ASAP
Thanks for what you do,
Dave Miller

I announced back on Aug 20 that I was going to vote for Romney and urged all conservatives to do the same.Bravo to you, Jim! Before August 20,after I told you that I had voted for Rick Santorum in the primaries, and asked you what you thought I should do in terms of voting once Mitt Romney became the nominee, you told me to "let my conscience be my guide."
You seemed to indicate that you might be sitting out the election.
I have to tell you that until it was announced on August 11 that Mitt Romney had chosen Paul Ryan as his running mate, this election, as far as I was personally concerned, was the quintessential "hold your nose and vote" proposition.
When all was said and done, however, I arrived at the same spot on conclusion you did. "What other choice did we have?"
We had no other choice. But it seems to me that if we were able to walk away from this political dog and pony show with a clear conscience, that has to count for something in the grand scheme of things.
