Sigs are nice, but get the sr9c, IMHO. It’s about 200 dollars less than the sig and the ruger shoots like a dream. It’s about $400 delivered from budsguns.com. With the savings, you can buy more than 800 rounds fmj whitebox or federal ammo.

Threaded barrel on sr22, I didn’t know they made those yet...that would be pretty sweet.

I’ve got several Ruger rifles in various calibers but I like the older tang safety models. Plus I have a couple of #1’s, one in 22-250 and the other in 257 Weatherby.

The Sig isn't $200 more around here! I can get the SR9c locally for $400, the Sig is $420. That's without shopping around; I could probably get both for less. I can also get the Sig with night sights (front and rear set) for $480, which ain't a bad deal at all IMHO; actually better than what I've seen for the SR9c with front and rear nights.

I think the SR9c's trigger is a bit better, but what it really has going for it with me is that it's thinner– I want to carry concealed (after I get around to getting a permit) and the Sig isn't exactly of an anorexic build lol. But the flip side is I find the Sig much easier to control and faster to point. I also prefer the DA/SA with a decocker. At the moment I'm leaning toward the Sig. I'm a novice shooter and have trouble with controlling the gun for a follow-up shot still, and going with the beefier, easier-recoiling gun seems like it might be a better way to learn. The SR9c feels great in my hand and is better for CC, but the Sig... if I close my eyes and bring the Sig up, when I open my eyes the sights are lined up. That's a pretty neat feeling.

*shrug* this is all academic until I have the funds to buy, which will be probably be quite awhile. Plenty of time to flip-flop my opinion over and over again :D

Well, I may be getting my sig models mixed up, but I thought the sigs, at least on Budsguns, which tend have the best prices, were a quite a bit more than the Ruger. If they’re that close in price, choosing between them would be a lot more difficult. However, for me, in a concealed carry role, I am quite happy with the Ruger. Though, I do have the benefit of using my friends Sig at the gun range anytime I want.

Could be the case; Bud's doesn't always have the best prices, though they are pretty good.

The SP2022 is the budget Sig. But still a good machine- basically a 226's guts, sans full-length rails and trigger system in a polymer frame. Held together a bit differently too. It's kinda funny- the 226 owners (and it is a very fine handgun indeed) like to look down their noses at the SP series, then turn around and complain about how much the 226 weighs. In a tent stake driving contest between a M1911 owner and a Sig 226 owner, pick the Sig owner ;-)

Here's a good review of the SP2022 at The Truth About Guns.
